• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hello

I am picking up my new f3 2017 in a couple of weeks. I'm just looking for some advice on how they ride and what to expect. I guess I might be impulsive since I never rode on one and did not even test drive this new one. I had motorcycles 20 years ago and at 53 yrs old I just did not want to go that route again. Any Advice On Anything from maintenance to riding is really appreciated.

Take Care

Try this....

welcome to both the spyder world and this everything spyder site...congrats on the new ryde..:2thumbs: if you don't have it get the owners manual from the dealer or on line at BRP and read it. There is a Do's and Don'ts here that is a most helpful read for new ryders. Then go out and see if it is true as you smile for miles down the road....:ohyea:

THRILLED

 EXPECT TO BE THRILLED BEYOND YOUR WILDEST IMAGINATION.......

these things are worse than heroin.... once you ride one, there is NO TURNING BACK.... you'll learn to hate winters, and will be down on your knees praying for the proper weather..... these things are beyond scary that way.....

enjoy, ride safely, and welcome to our world....

New Spyder Owner

J D welcome to the Spyder world. This site is all things Spyder. The first thing I would suggest is to type in Do's and Do Nots in the search box on the home page. Read everything in there about the 1330 engine. I would also suggest reading your owner's manual from cover to cover when you pick up your new ride. You can go to the Can-Am Spyder website and download a copy in advance and start reading. Someone will jump in here and provide a link. Once you get used to your Spyder and how it is different from a two wheeler, you will love it.❤❤

Start here....

"Do's and Do Not's" for new Spyder owners...

Enter "Do's and Do Not's" in the search window. Good luck and happy trails.

NEWBIE

:congrats:.............&.......:welcome:........... :agree: , with above ...........it's interesting how many people on this site don't read what anyone else has posted :dontknow: :roflblack: :roflblack: :roflblack: ...................ride safe

Do you have any experience riding ATVs or snowmobiles? Spyders ride and corner an awful lot like they do.
In fact: they feel absolutely nothing like a conventional two-wheeled motorcycle! nojoke

Read your manual about six times, and review the thread about "Do's and Don'ts", that you'll find in here!

You'll be "Spinnin' & Grinnin' in no time! :D

Some of the most basic things... are different

Obviously you now have three wheels. Take it slow and easy and just because you've got a lot of miles on 2 wheels, don't miss the opportunity to wheel your Spyder around a deserted parking lot or set out some plastic cones and get familiar with the weave and braking on three wheels. The manual shows several pages of "get familiar" exercises to try. It helps alot to get over the grabbing for the right hand brake, in parking lot stops and also even to get used to not putting your foot down. Once your mind adjusts to the 3 wheel thing you'll even start staggering wheels to clear potholes and other more "advanced" maneuvers:clap:

You'll know you're comfortable on your Spyder when you start "shaving" the distance to miss a pothole on your cage, even though you don't have to!!:roflblack:

:welcome: and :congrats: on the new F3. As others have suggested, read the do's and don'ts thread. It covers most everything.

Good advice above as always

All I would add is ... Don't overthink , just enjoy ... Give the new style of machine some time because like me some people on the first Ryde think it may have been a mistake , but trust me it wasn't :2thumbs::2thumbs:

Congrats!

:welcome: and :congrats: on your new 2017 f3-t !!! You will really like it! :D:D:D

Follow the do's and don'ts as previously stated. Riding it more will train you how it handles and steers (especially if you are coming off of the 2 wheelers as these 3 wheelers are totally different).

One important item for new riders -- do NOT back-up quickly and turn...you will flip it. Go slow when backing up....

Enjoy and be safe!

Welcome

:2thumbs:Yes go out and feel the bike , relax don't put a death grip on the bars . It's different than a two wheeler as you will look for the hand break " that's not the worse thing as a HD owner also I hit the horn in the beginning making a left turn LOL and oh yes felt like I should put a foot down at the first stop sign DOH . After the first hour on my F3s I was charging in the curves and slingshoting out harder and faster than expected .
Relax and enjoy but don't ride over your ability and you will have miles of smiles.
Welcome aboard let the fun begin.

Great to have you
