• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Doin' a little maintenance

Thought I'd strip the plastic off and do some learnin' and maintenance on the Spyder during the off-season.
1. Flushed the clutch fluid. Man it was nasty, just after a year. I did it last year too...yuck!!
2. Brake fluid is new too, that was pretty clean
3. Removed some wiring that wasn't being used for some add-on stuff
4. Changed my belt tension a bit. I loosened it a touch. By my handy dandy Krikit, it was right at 200lbs, so I dropped it to 170ish. I also used the "twist the belt 90* with thumb and finger" method. I still need to double check the belt alignment yet.
5. Might run a new cable for my GPS unit yet.
6. Waiting for a left side rain deflector to come in so I can get that replaced. Hit a dead critter in the road last year and cracked the original one.
7. Changed the oil and filter. Always fun, but much easier with the bike lifted up on jack stands. (Thank you Harbor Freight)
8. Noticed one of the front tires is wearing differently, so I see a Lazer Alignment in my near future...Maybe at Spyderfest, we'll see

Hmm, what else should I do while it's up on jacks and stripped of plastic?

 I congratulate you on your finely-tuned work ethic. :firstplace:
(Mine is still sleeping off New Years.)
Is it time for you to paint the rear fender, so that it matches the rest of the bike? :dontknow:

Depends....

on the mileage...manual has some good ideas per miles. :lecturef_smilie: Your a busy man but pace yourself at this rate you'll be done way to soon....:roflblack:

Come see us at Spyderfest and we will get you Squared Away. If you're looking for new tires I'm running the Federal Formoza's in the stock size and I love them.

Ann, are you guys setting up appointments for alignments at Spyderfest? We'll be there all week. Can I sneak in early?;)

Since it is up in the air and the plastic is off, maybe add LED headlights, and driving lights, change the air filter(baja ron),change plugs and wires(baja ron). Look under neath and see how everything is there. How about adding highway pegs? Bad Boy air horn? Stronger seat strut? Re-enforce trunk lid strut? There's always something isn't there?
