• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Yep I'm a newbie.

Have there been many changes between these three years?

Debating on what I should be looking at to purchase, Used 2015, 2016 that are still about, or the 2017's?

Leaning toward 2016 but will probably be few and far between in late April.

No major changes. Just a few tweaks and colors. Do your homework and don't be afraid to travel a little to save big $$$. Be sure to contact iMotorsports. They usually have good prices and they deliver.

MAJOR CHANGES

Even the BASIC - RT in 2014 went light years ahead of ALL other Spyders with the 1330 Ace 3 Cyl engine and 6 speed Hyd. clutch...... all the other stuff on the more expensive RT's don't really make it a better handling machine, or sound better ( stereo ) ( it needs better speakers ). I bought a 14 Basic and added the Semi-auto transmission, I saved a ton of money, and then went the DIY route for floor boards, speakers, Lazer alignment, custom suspension ( my own design ) car tires etc..... I would put my RT up against any $ 40,000 RT out there ..... JMHO......Mike

I don't recall the RT being 40K unless I missed something :dontknow: I know I didn't pay that much. Not even when I owned the TRIGLIDE

Been pretty happy with my 2014 Limited. The 15 ,16,17 are pretty much the same except for color

I have a 2014 RT-S. Guess you can call me a beta tester for the third time. :roflblack::roflblack: Like Mike said, the 1330 engine is much improved over the 998 version. Quieter, more low end torque, mpg better by 10 or more, and lower maintenance costs.

The 2015, 16, & 17 are pretty much the same. The big difference on the LTD version are mainly color choices. I would have no problem with any of the four years mentioned. If you shop, you can find some very good deals.

That's the estimated cost of " FARKLING " a new RT to match what I have now using purchases from vendors ....... imho ..... Mike

I know my left over '16 RT Limited wasn't even near 40 K with a couple of extras.

The 2017 are missing red as a choice I don't care for the new champagne color.

They DID change to a USB plug for sound inputs...
...and a shorter antenna!
CruzrJoe mentioned that there were some changes in the wiring behind the dash for 2015...

But they're all still about the same great bike!

I purchased a 2014 RT Limited this past June for only $21,500. with 10k on it. After riding Goldwings for many, many years this Spyder is a dream machine to me. A friend bought a new 2016 RT Limited for $28,000. this past Sept. & is totally satisfied with this great machine. They have more gadgets on them than i could ever imagine.

I bought a 2016 RTL from Ollie,s in Alexandria, Minnesota in November and they still had some available. Excellent dealership and good prices and good service dept. Family run business.

Picked up a new

2015 base model RT with semi-auto for a great price this month. Their out there, just do a bit of research. After 40+ years of riding we have most of the farkles we want already laying around here and I can spend the winter months installing them:yes:

Check the "4 Sale by Owner and WTB" on this site on the "Forum Tab" ( next to Home and What's New).

The "1330 Ace triple engine is low maintance, quiter, has a lot of power even riding 2 up, and towing a trailer, better gas mileage.

Someone on this site should chime in how the 1330 Ace triple engine is when towing a trailer or riding 2 up. I have a 2014 RTS-SE6 I am happy with it, I have 16,000 miles on it. Deanna

2017 Model

2017 starts right away. No booting up !

When you mentioned it starts right up? Do you mean that you don't have to press the "Kill Switch Off" --> "ECO Mode" --> and "Start". All, you do is turn the key?

You know it would be great if the Nanny was automatically off. If you want the Nanny on than all you do is put the "ECO Mode" "On" Maybe will see that for the 2018 model. Hopefully, the customers can get the turbo charger as well in 2019.

Last spring I bought my dealers 2014 RT-S SE-6 demo with only 2000 miles on it for less than $22,000. I liked my 2012 RT-L but, as others have said, the new version is quite an improvement in the areas having to do with engine and transmission.

:agree: I bought my 2014RTS-SE6 brand new, because of the engine, and transmission, and the other Major upgrades that BRP did. I am not looking back! I have 16,000 miles on it. I am very happy with my :spyder2:. Deanna
