• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How globes were made...1950's

Primly dressed ladies & a spray guy with no mask. But I do remember those globes - we had one of the really big ones at my school - and I always found it fascinating to turn it around and read the country names - one one of our globes, even older was from the 30's. Not so many of those countries left on today's globes.

I remember going to Moisant Airport in New Orleans (Louis Armstrong International today) In the main lobby as you walked in was a huge globe on axis at the proper angle rotating around. In one of the many remodels it was removed,I wonder where it went?

Similar very huge sized globe in the Minneapolis Star & Tribune lobby. When I was a sixth grader, that was an impressive site. And then there were the linotype machines that they used to make the daily paper. The times, they have a changed.

Used to love those 16mm movies with that same music and giving us information about everything in those days. The only thing different was that the films were usually in black & white. I was a projectionist in fifth and sixth grade, so I got to see more than my share of the "educational" films. Nice memories.
