2016 RT Limited with about 2500 miles on her. Accelerating out of a slow turn from an off ramp onto local highway, felt and a pretty significant "clunk" (like a rock had been kicked up and hit something on the bottom of the bike). Yes, there was a bit of debris in the corner, but I thought I had cleared it before I gave her gas. Home is only about 2 miles away, so took a mirror to the bottom of the bike to see if I could see what caused the noise -- and I find this:

Note that this was take from the left side of the bike and the image is sort of reversed because the phone is sitting on the floor. The arrow points to the front of the bike and you can see the front of the belt, the front pulley, and bolt that holds the pulley on. But, what on earth is that splined shaft that I have circled? This is only the second time I have inspected this area of the bike and just don't recall seeing this bare shaft. Have I lost something? Is that what I heard / felt as it left the bike? :yikes:
Concerned in Texas .... Ann
