• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Paint Touch Up

I have a 2012 Can Am Spyder RT-S in pure magnesium, with two center black stripes down the lid of the frunk. Someone evidently thought it would look better with a scratch as could be made with a key or nail over a part of the black stripe. I can submit a photo of the affected area, if that would help for a solution. I contacted the local Can Am dealership and was told that a new lid would cost me $445. I'd rather not have to pay the $445 for the lid, and then another few dollars for the paint and the stripes. I thought about using a black felt marker, but that might look too obvious. Open to suggestions.

I've got some paint issues as well, with the lower nose piece. I've considered pulling it off and just taking it to the local body shop for a paint job. Might be worth looking into. $445 seems pricey. I gotta believe a body shop could fix it for less.

one of our sponsors is Wrap My Spyder. Maybe they can make you a wrap to replace your stripes?

& then you can choose bigger or more design to the stripes if you like. Go flashy like carbon fiber or flames :)

:agree: ..... But to start if you want perfect, if the scratch is really a gouge :yikes: ...... you can go to Walmart and get the smallest Body Filler Kit they sell ...... if you follow the directions it's really not difficult to get a super smooth finish ..... and if you are using a DECAL type Stripe you don't even have to Match the paint ..................... I did something similar when I decided to fill the Antenna Hole in my RT ..... I made my own Paint Match from shelf selections and people say they can't tell there was a Hole there ..... yours would be a piece of cake ,........... good luck.............Mike

sakura solid paint stick may help. i use these at work for 30 years. they come in over 12 colors. basically it is a solid paint
stick that has thickness. let me know if you can't find them.

Wife and I always go to Wally World for touch up paint. It's in the nail polish section. They have so many different makes, shades of nail polish you will find one that works. Have not failed yet. Tom :spyder:
