Wear bars are wear bars
Hi Jack, no direspect but I had a big scare while riding in a light rain at only 40 mph!! My RTS hydro planed at the rear and pitched to the right. Until my wear bars i/e very little tread in the center third of the tire, my Altramax would not have done this when the tire was newer. Wear bars are wear bars and reflect a thinner tire area that will channel water more poorly, hydro plane more easily, and most important are more vunderable to road hazard punctures. Not a good thing on any vehicle because as all of us have noticed, there is a lot more dangerous debris on the road these days.

A lot of owners here do not use the true wear bars on there Kenda,s. If they did they would be getting a lot more miles out of them. Only the bars directly up from the triangles on the sidewall should be used for wear bars and not other tread bars in the center of the tire.
Ride Now Sports ( 40 plus dealers) sells the new compound Kendas for $180 with FREE install. I for one am quite happy with the tire and the price.
