• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Trunk Popping Spring

All,

Wanted to let everyone know that the spring to pop the trunk is a Hillman spring #155.

Other posts have alluded to it being an Ace Hardware item. It is actually part of a box of springs/spring collection produced by Hillman. Hillman's part/spring number is 155.

If you do not have one already, you may have to do some calling around to find it. I bought mine today at a True Value hardware store in Mayflower, AR for about 75 cents. Two Ace stores I visited did not have it in stock.

Possibly the best mod for the money! You folks are geniuses!

Yeah...I have pics of this from like 6 or 8 months ago...the 155 is from any major spring kit...there are several....

For the price and ease of installing, this is one of the best. I used to get off the bike, turn the key and reach down to open the trunk. Now all I have to do is turn the key while I am still on the bike. Don't know whose idea this was, but I take my hat off to him for coming up with this solution.:2thumbs:

This mod works great and only cost me 50 cents! It should have been OEM! It fits perfectly down INSIDE so it's not visible like the other spring mods.
