• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

This one will cause some controversy...

i just heard about this on the news, wow, what were the police thinking.
They were not thinking!
Unfortunately, like with every other occupation, there are good and bad people. This was not the person for this job. Too bad that innocent people have to pay the price.

Miami will be writing a big check, and the cop could be charged with attempted murder. They are taught to shoot to kill, how he didn't kill the guy is a big WOW.

I'm just hoping that the Officer comes clean, and the Department can release a statement that keeps the community at least somewhat satisfied. nojoke

The officer released a statement that he was trying to hit the autistic gentleman and missed, hitting the other guy.

Dude!!!! That statement just made what you did sooooooooo much worse.......

Hi vampyregirl,

Re: . . . missed, hitting the other guy.

Barney Fife reports for duty.

Huh?

Whats wrong with this picture? "Attempted murder" Nah, I don't think so. "Taught to shoot to kill" Not hardly. But I agree Miami better get their checkbook out cause this is going to cost them big time.

If his marksmanship is that bad he has no business having a gun in his hand.
The lawyers will have a field day with this one....

Hi vampyregirl,

Re: What a mess that's going to be on so many levels.

I think it already is a mess. Time to put a clerk to working on putting the zeros on the check.

On the face of it, the guy on the floor with his hands in the air shouldn't have been shot.
The other recent cases, the cops were probably in the right.
I'm just wondering though, with all the violence that's being thrown against cops, maybe the officer was on edge and over stressed when he took the call ?
I know that's not an excuse, but it could be an explanation.

I agree. The officers were responding to a "man with a gun" call. Given the :cus: that has been happening, lately, any sane person would have some serious adrenaline pumping into their system when they rolled up to the scene.

Adrenaline can really mess up your motor skills and cause anxiety.

I believe the current political climate and ambush shootings of police officers played, at least peripherally, a part in this event.

Should it have happened? Of course, not. But everyone makes mistakes - when your job involves guns, mistakes tend to be much more catastrophic than, perhaps the mistakes of an accountant.
