• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Trailer Wiring MOD

I recently added the Can Am BRP hitch for my 2015 RT SE6 S and did not like the BRP wire harness. It would be a real pain to get to and get really mucked up with road debris where they suggest it be mounted. I came up with this and think it will be great. I used a 6 pin connector on the bike so I could extend a hotwire to the trailer for an inside light or an extra charging outlet. I used the Bike Bike Parts wiring harness and connected straight to battery to ensure no worries with the cluster. Sorry about the sideways pics!

NICE JOB!!

I am attempting to hook up something that's supposed to be simple, but seems to be becoming more difficult as I progress.

I purchased the Big Bike Parts harness for my 2014 RT SE 6 LTD, got it hooked up easily. When I tried to wire from the BBP y harness to the trailer 4 flat plug, I couldn't manage to get everything that the trailer should have (Running lights, brake, left and right turn and 4 way flashers.

I was told I needed to purchase a 5 to 4 wire adapter, which I have, but now I'm really confused. I can't get all the trailer functions to operate. I can brake and tail lights, but no 4 way flashers. I can get 4 way flashers without turn signals or brake. The last scenario I attempted gives me everything except 4 way flashers unless I apply the brake pedal. I am now lost.

So my question is, has anyone attempted this and how did they do it?

Can we see a pic of the trailer wire plug? Is the trailer grounded to itself in the wiring? I have heard some talk that are using the y harness that the trailer has to be grounded. Hope this helps!

The screwy setup

The trailer wire plug is a common 4 wire flat. The trailer has it's own ground, but it appears it also has to be connected through the white wire on the 4 flat plug to the converter.

I have been working from simple drawings to verify and correct problems. This is the one that seems to work the best. As you can see it is strange that a wire has to be spliced from one side of the converter to the other on each turn signal. That's where I get confused.
