There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sypder RT OEM Seats - OEM Seat Change After 2013?

Hello everyone. I'm looking at going from 2 to 3 wheels and buying my first Spyder, a 2013 RT Limited. I test rode the 2013 and a 2016 and it seemed like the passenger seat on the 2016 had more front to rear room. Did they change the OEM seats after 2013? If so, for those of you that have put on aftermarket seats, did any of them offer more front to rear room for the passenger? Also, being used to a cruiser, I'm used to sitting lower in the seat. The RT seems to have me sitting higher and the seat pushes me towards to front. Is that just me? I'm 5'8", 195 lbs. Thanks and I hope to be a spyder ryder soon!

The seats from year to year are basically the same, but there are optional "comfort" seats that move the rider back 2" so a loss in passenger space would be noticed. Someone probably put one on and traded in the bike with it.

You should check out the F3 for the lower cruiser seating.

Correct as the seat pan is the same size for all the RT's. So the 2016 seat will fit the 2013.

Thanks to everyone for the help! I'm going back to test ride the 2013 Limited Tuesday this week (It was buried Sunday. They were only open because there was another make demo event there.) Yesterday I saw the install video for the Ultimate seat and driver backrest and I realized that is the exact backrest that is on it. I'll check it out then. If it's the Ultimate with the pushed back driver seat, that would explain why the passenger seat seems so short. If it's an Ultimate, maybe I can find someone willing to trade with it. Well, I have to buy the bike first.

Test Rode the 2013 RT Limited Today

I test rode the 2013 Limited today. The only mods I noticed were dual exhaust slip on's and a driver's back rest. They sounded good but if I get a bike with a stereo, I'd like to hear it. There's no way the wife, or anyone else that I know of, could ride on back with the driver back rest on. I'm not a big guy, 5'8" with a little beer belly (that reminds me, it beer thirty right now), but I couldn't put the back rest back up when sitting in the passenger seat. It's way too tight. Also, both the RT's I tested, the 2016 and the 2013 feel like the seat is pushing me forward all the time. I had to keep standing up a little to adjust everything and sit back down.

It was 82 degrees and after about a mile I started noticing my right foot heating up. It got pretty hot on just a 4 mile ride.

Anyway, I told the dealer I'd wait for a 1330 to come in or a better deal on a new one. Kind of disappointing, but I want to be happy with what I buy.

Don,t blame you I would wait for the 1330.I have the Ultimate seat on my RT with the back rest and there is plenty of room for the wife on the back.I,m 5 ft 7in so I have the regular seat.
