• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Get the RT Radiator heat shield from Spyderpops and remove the splash plate from the bottom and you will be happy.

Toasty....

Just had a thread where a member made his own block off place. You might check with Spyderpops on this . There are blockoff plates available to help with that.

Cover

I made a cover yesterday out of a cutting board cut 2 pieces one for the top of bottom vent and a side pannel screwed the 2 together and shaped the top one to splash guard and painted it black and put one screw into splash guard, Sorry no pic yet got new phone and havent figured out how to send yet.

It would be nice if we knew exactly which year and model bike was giving you the "hot-foot"...
There are many ways to deal with this problem; depending on your bike! :D

Check my post

Just posted my fix on 5/16. Look for my post entitled Got Rid of My Hot Foot. It's the 4th one down. Cost me $2.50 plus a little black paint. Pictures on the post. I found out about the other blockers but this forces everything out the bottom so you can't use both the floorboards and pegs. I like to use both when I ride and not get stuck in one position. Hope it helps. PM me if you have questions.

Joe,

Did you have this on your 998 RT? If so, can you explain what prevents the heat from pouring out the lower hole onto your foot when your feet are not on the highway pegs?

Bob,

I have the same highway pegs on my 2013 RT. The more I look at your picture, the more I'm beginning to think that your solution may ultimately do the best all-around job - especially since I already have the lower hole blocked.. There was a fella who blocked-off the upper opening completely, and then used a chrome 4" exhaust pipe end, to route the heat away from his foot...

It REALLY looked cool... nojoke

I saw that, but didn't bookmark it. I'll have to see if I can find it again. Of course 95% of the heat problems on the 2013 RT is now history. I've even rectified the "hot foot" problem while my feet are on the floorboards by adding the 2014 style lower block-off. Now, if I could find some solution that would allow me to enjoy using my highway pegs, I'd have it all but entirely resolved. I probably shouldn't complain, given that amount of progress. But I want it ALL. ;)

I know i could probably resolve it if I removed the bottom splash plates, as part of the "fix", but I cannot get past thinking that they must have been put there for a reason. :dontknow:

I put the shield on the upper hole and took off the plate under the bike and the heat went down thru the bottom, I use highway pegs and the heat shield & plate removal took away almost all the heat.
