DESS by pass

There is a series of button pushing for overriding the DESS error. I had it happen twice this weekend. A fellow spyder owner did the series of pushing things and it started. He informed me I should always shut off the machine in neutral. (I had been leaving it in 1st) he had a hard time remembering the series but happened to get it. Anyone else know this series?

Did you try **** Turn on/off immediately and DO NOT LET THE SYSTEM SHUT DOWN for 4 to 5 cycles. ****

I did the above when I had the D.E.S.S. module replaced twice( first replaced on July 14,2015 and the second on Aug.28th, 2015)


What year is your spyder?


What spyder model do you have?

How many miles do you have on your spyder when you had the D.E.S.S. error show up?

That may have happened I guess. It was shut on off several times.

2014 rtl it has happened off and on since I bought it as a demo last july 2015. Dealer reprogrammed keys. Still happened. Last weekend happened twice. Once I was able to wait a few minutes and then it was fine. Second time it wouldn't reset. Until a fellow spyder owner did a series of button pushes then it started. May have been coincidence but it started.

Or if you get the D.E.S.S. error again, please post on that thread, I would like to centralize the D.E.S.S. errors that people are having on that thread. Deanna
