• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What am I doing wrong?

I'm trying to take off my Stage 2 Elka shocks (front) and replace them with my OEM shocks on my 2014 RT Limited.

I have my wheels on the ground and the bottom bolt is very snug but the nut is off. There appears to be too much pressure on the shock to remove the bolt. I've jacked up the front end to relieve the tension on the shock, but the bolt is still tight.

I understand that when the bottom bolt is out, I'll raise the wheel off the ground and it'll make the top bolt easy to remove. Reverse the process to install.

You have to raise the front of the Spyder until there is no tension on the lower shock bolt. The best way to accomplish this is to get the Spyder to where both front tires are just barely touching the floor. Then, as you pull on the bolt, gently rock the Spyder back and forth until you find the sweet spot. The bolt will virtually fall out in your hand.

Good luck!

:agree: Loosening up the top bolt seemed to give my front shocks a bit more "wiggle-room"; when I needed to pull them...

Well....

Assuming they were the right length when they were installed :agree:. Now if you don't have a sensative jack you can use shims (those wooden wedges) and slip them under the wheel to get to that sweet spot. You may have to tap the bolt out with a punch or screwdriver...

Curious

I just installed the Elka Stage 2 shocks onto my 2014 RTL at SpyderFest. Curious as to why you are removing them. I noticed a great difference in handling and ride.

I'm selling my RT Limited and moving to an F3 Limited. I'm defarkling my RTL so I can recover a few $$$.
