• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Oil Change Kit

Today, I changed oil in my 1330 for the first time. I went slowly and took my time so that I could learn as much about the machine as possible. It was significantly different from the 998. I am not sure that I would consider it to be any easier than the 998 but, all went well. I used the new oil change kit and all was good except there was no copper washer ( PN 420250640 ) for the gear box drain plug. Is this normal or was mine missing something ?:dontknow:

Based on watching Shawn Smoak's 1330 oil change video I'd say you got shorted. He showed the contents of the kit and everything necessary was there.

The silver (aluminum) one is the engine drain plug washer.

Mine did not have the copper washer. The aluminum one was there but, as stated, it is not the one for the gearbox drain plug. Next time I will have to check before I bring the kit home.

Or you could just order the kits from BajaRon for less money and let him check the contents before he sends it to you. I find it far easier than dealing with a dealer parts jockey and making multiple trips for overpriced parts.

I have no complaints about my dealer any how they treat their customers. I would not have any reservations about ordering from BajaRon but, this was it's first oil change and I have always felt that not creating a situation that could put me or the dealer in the position of having to defend my actions is prudent just in cast any issues are uncovered.

Could not find the kit, could you give me a "link".

thanks Chris
