There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. F3 Woes .....

I put my 2015 F3S SE6 into my local dealer to get its first service and get the recall done on the rear shock brace on the frame. I had only 6,000 k. On the clock, on doing the recall fix my mechanic found that the frame had warped and cracked . He immediately informed BRP whose reply was to belt the frame back into position and then fix the recall bracket ,my mechanic refused to do this quick coverup and informed BRP that the only fix was to replace the FRAME .After repeated calls and discussions with BRP they agreed to replace the FRAME,I really appreciate my dealer and mechanic for insisting that my F3 was to be repaired to what it should be. Only downfall is I now have to wait 6 to 8 weeks for the Frame to be shipped to Australia.
Waiting for successful outcome. Des. Australia:yes:

Thanks for the info Des. Jeffs F3 is going to shepp in a week for chassis fix and 'two up' shock install. I'll pass on your experience, just in case. Glad brp has come to the party. Good dealer!

Hard to believe

Hard to believe BRP would tell your dealer to basically "put a band aid on it". It's a good thing you have an excellent dealer.

If that was my machine I'd be expecting a replacement machine not just a new frame or BRP would be talking to my lawyer.

I agree. Once the dealer strips down the old bike to move everything over to the new frame starting with the wiring harness then engine and rest of drive train. It will NEVER be factory new or reliable. Its as bad as a bike that was in a very bad wreck and rebuilt. I would be asking for a replacement bike or considerable assistance money in trading in for a new one.

I hate to say this; but... :agree:
I had the frame replaced on my 2010 RT, and while it was still a great bike; I had lots of little "issues" with it after the "backbone transplant"...

Has anyone else been told by their mechanic, that their frame was ruined? :dontknow:

F -3 FRAME ISSUE

..My question at this point is ......How many frames has this occurred to and the owners DON'T KNOW ABOUT IT........We all know about dealer Techs who are less than competent and the OP imho was very lucky in that His Tech found it AND REPORTED IT and REFUSED TO COVER IT UP......If BRP's response was to re-align the frame and weld it back to-gether, in the USA that might actually be a CRIME unless it was with the Knowledge and Permission of the Owner..................DO YOU THINK I'M BEING OVERLY DRAMATIC ????.....OR DO YOU AGREE WITH ME ? ? ......Mike :dontknow:

Mike

I agree 100%. Like I said before replace the entire machine with one that has an updated frame or give me my $$$ back otherwise I'll see you in court would be how I would deal with this problem. Big thumbs up to the tech for saying no way to BRP.

F3 frames

I also wonder how many other cracked frames have been covered up the fixing of the bracket in the recall ,as once the bracket is bolted in it covers up where the frame cracks .Maybe BRP are hopping out of sight is a quick fix to a problem that should have not happened in a machine of thic caliber and cost???????:banghead::banghead::b2b: Des Downunder

Hi des, did you get a loaner bike ?? Also I suggest that, when they are totally rebuilding your bike, you insist on the upgraded 'two up' rear shock.
jeff is booked in for chassis bandaid ( sorry I cannot in all good conscience call it a 'fix') on Saturday, along with rear shock.

i have to absolutely agree with other posts
a I would have insisted on a replacement bike, not a rebuild
b brp should be paying for the two up shock, as they call it, for all
c without a better rear shock, drilling holes in the frame and covering up the trouble spot seems to me to be just a cover up (pun intended)
d I would not be sitting around without a bike for what will realistically be about three months! I do hope that at the least you have a loaner f3 for the duration

please let us know the final upshot
