There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. fuel gauge replacement - anything a/mkt available?

Go here and you will get some ideas on what to do after you disconnect you analog gauges.

i have a base RT no analog gauges just plastic covers to block the holes. Sounds like this guy had to wire this up and there is no existing wires behind the empty slots on my base RT? In the frunk where the hole for a 12v plug is the wires for the plug are sitting there waiting for you (why they didnt include the $1 plug i will never know) i was wondering if there was wires for any type of gauge sitting there waiting.

The wires are there. They are on key power though.

Thats fine with me, so i assume they are just power wires so a clock or voltage meter i could just remove the 4 dash screws, plug the gauges in and i am done?

I am so stupid i just noticed the cruzr joe post answering my question about the wires. Sorry. So looks like clock is out because of the key power but volt meter is in. I think im going to do that just because its sounds like the one mod where you dont have to take off every panel on the bike :)

these look like the two options on ebay, cheapest prices for US sellers

anyone know why one has two wires and one has 3? how many wires are sitting behind the dash waiting?

What has three wires? I don't see three wires on either of the gauges you link to.

posted the wrong one, that one has silver outside and id rather have the black and has no pictures of the wiring.

My guess would be one of two things. They have the wrong picture in there and they're showing the tachmeter which does have three wires, or the third wire is connected to the car dash lights to dim the display at night. Just guessing! All the voltmeter install instructions I find with Google show only two wires.

so according to a video i saw on the DIY section its to runs straight to the battery for some kind of pretty power down procedure, nothing you need to actually hook up. But then i saw something about not using the existing spyder wires to connect a volt meter on the 2015 models so now im nervous about getting one. On the other side i would love to do an ambient temp gauge. Anyone know if there are any 52mm ambient temp gauges?
thanks

On 2011-2014 the stock analog gauges had 3 wires.
Ground.
+12 switch to run the light bulb in the gauge.
+12 which goes through the cluster and gives the signal to the gauge on what to display (It's basically like a CAN High + line).

On 2015 they went with an LED and thus the +12 for the bulb is no longer there.
The LED is low power so they did not need it and used the +12 signal line to power the LED and gauge.

You are fine using this for the Ebay volt meter since it is also low power and uses LEDs.

The warning you hear is for people hooking up USB plugs to charge stuff off of that +12 cluster wire. Even though some people still have done that, I would not as it was not intended for high current draw.

Anyway your OK getting that voltage gauge and using your existing wires on your 2015.
