There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Installing an Autocomm

I have an autocomm from my previous bike that I used for bike to bike communications, cell phone and XM and GPS. I am looking to hear from Spyder owners on solutions they came up with their locations to install their autocomms.

Thanks

Hi Keith. I have my Autocom Easi-7 Advance powered directly off the battery. I tucked the unit in the left side panel just below where the vehicle operator sits. The headset wires stick out from under the seat. I am at work now, but could post some pics later if that would help.

Thanks Bruce, pictures are always welcome!

Keith, My Autocom unit is mounted on Velcro under the seat on the right side. I am wired in to Ken's power bus. I have quick disconnects on the power leads so the entire unit can be removed when major service is necessary. I'll try and post some pics later today. Steven

Nancy's Starcom1 is mounted under the console, behind the dash. I couldn't find any other place that cleared, was relatively cool, and protected from the weather. Once it is adjusted, it seldom needs to be fooled with, so it works OK there. The MP3 player and radio cables run to the trunk, and the headset bulkhead connector is under the seat. Picture in the Nancy's Mods section of my album.

As promised, here are the pics. I forgot that the Corbin does not open as wide as the stock seat so I couldn't really get the angle I wanted, but here they are. Good luck, wherever you decide to mount it.

Here is a pic showing the placement of the Autocom 12V connection and the cables. The unit itself is tucked down in the left side panel, so you can't see it.

Steve ... what is "Ken's power bus?"

Does anyone have a TomTom unit, if so how did you attach the cable directly to the battery and where did you run the wire to? Or is there a better way to attach direct power cable that comes with unit.

Short version is that it is an accessory fuse box that I bought from Ken at Evoluzione. There is room for Ken's Powerebus to the outside of the front fuse panel. I did have to fab a small bracket to mount it there. Easy access by just popping the trunk open and pulling off the top black plastic piece if you need to change a fuse. I have seen some that have mounted a power bus on the left side in front of the coolant overflow tank. Same easy access but I personally didn't want my electrical bus right in front of a cap that could leak. Ryde Safe and Enjoy:thumbup:
