There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. F3 from a ST, RT or a RS

Although I am fairly new to my Spyder ST (5000 miles since the end of August) it's been great!
Now with the descent deals on left over F3s I'm considering one. I'm a big guy(6'4" & 275lb.) and I like the idea of the u-fit system. I'm in Minnesota, so unfortunately test drives are no longer an option. I'd like to hear from people who had another model of Spyder and went to a F3.
Specifically: (1) handling & power difference - (2) Comfort - (3) 2-up riding(my wife rides with me at least half the time)
Thanks for your help and opinions!

Mike

I did test ride on a early model 15& it was great ,but learned how spoiled i am to the windshield, & radio on my STL. Wish they would offer the 1330 on an ST & now eith the F3T I have something to consider. No wear near trade in ready but, food for thought:thumbup:

My wife just bought an F3 in Sept. She has had a RS & a STL. She loves the F3 in every way over her STL. She resisted trying the F3 in case she loved it, but in one weak moment she did, and a couple of weeks later she was picking it up. Her STL hurt her back after a couple of hours of riding, but she did a 10 hour drive on her F3 without any issues.
As for 2 up. The rear shock is only good for 250lbs. While it might be ok for just you, it will definitely bottom out with you wife on it as well. Lamonster is coming out with a shock to fix this problem, though.

Choices??

I would recommend the 2015/2016 RT-S or Limited for power, ride, comfort, and room for 2..Second choice would be F3 with backrest's..Which ever one fits your driving posture best as they are both a bit different in your seating and leg positions.. Good Luck..

A windshield is definitely a concern of mine, so it's something I would add. An F3T is off the table because of dollars.

This is the kind of things I want to hear. I'm aware of the shock issue, and it sounds like Lamonster going to have that covered.
My back isn't great. I don't have a problem on my ST & I was concerned about it on the F3- good to know her back is better on the F3.
Do you guys think the handling is way better (more fun) over her STL?

The RTS is less roomy for me than my ST. My wife might be more comfortable on a RTS as a passenger, but I was hoping to hear from people about riding 2-up on a F3 coming from other models.

6 FT 4 INCHES

....Find a dealer who will properly fit you to the F-3, it has the U-FIT system.......Make them work for their sale !!!!......Mike

As for the windshield, she has the BR windshield. It is good for her, but when I ride it is way too low for me. You might want to look at the F4 windshields. I am 6', and she is 5' 4".

As for handling, we both find the F3 way better in the handling department. It sticks to the road better, and the ride is smoother. Especially, over really bumpy roads. The F3 handles like it is on rails. It handles a little better than her RS, and much better than her STL.

I know Geoff (OJ UK) had a RSS before his F3-S and he did recommend F3 to me based on his previous experience with RSS.
