• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Harbor Freight power drill recall

Well, it looks like I lucked out. I have one of those drills, but mine is not in the recall. I think it works pretty good for light duty use. Not going to withstand anything heavy though. I mainly use it for driving in wood screws.

DeWalt here.

Just FYI, Dewalt, Black and Decker and Porter Cable are all the same company and tools. My only real beef with them is they continue to insure the batteries between those lines are similar but incompatible. This is what prompted me to start with Milwaukee a few years ago. It was a big leap up in capability. They completely replaced all my air tools.

My Milwaukee cordless impact is MUCH stronger than the Ingersoll Rand 2131 air impact it replaced. Same is true for each of the FUEL line cordless tools that one at a time replaced air or corded tools. With careful shopping, they can be had for similar pricing to DeWalt and other pro line tools. My air compressor is now only for tires, sweeping and the safety latches on the lift. My next compressor will be much smaller, just no need any longer.

To keep this spyder related, I LOVE my Milwaukee heated hoodie. Uses the same batteries as the tools and last all day on two batteries. Great for riding in cooler weather or working in the unheated shop.

Didn't know about Porter Cable but remember they seemed to have quite a battery issue a while back where the others didn't. Knew about Black & Decker and Dewalt but have compared their stuff closely and wouldn't say they are the same tools. B & D seem much lighter, less quality and less expensive.
