I hope you aren't talking to me, I've been riding Harleys since 1976, and think they are great motorcycles. I traded my Ultra Classic in on my Spyder, because I no longer felt that I had the slow speed control I should have, all due to the weight. I mean, it only weighed 850 pounds, and my wife didn't fell comfortable any longer. So now, I don't have to worry about holding it up at stop lights, or backing out of parking spaces. As much as I liked my Harleys, I like the Spyder better, but then, it is a different machine.
Along those lines, even though I have a lot of Harley cloths to get rid of, I never really bought into the lifestyle, and think they just priced themselves out of my budget. I try to take things as I see them, and do my best to no become prejudiced in what I do. If I don't like something (someone) I do my best to base my like and/or dislike on personal experience, not what some one else says.
Damn, where did I find this soap box I seem to be standing on this morning. Think I will go take a ride, I'd like to have another 400 miles before I take it in for service next Tuesday.

Same exact reasons we switched from the harley road king to the spyder.I hope you aren't talking to me, I've been riding Harleys since 1976, and think they are great motorcycles. Don't blame the Harley, it was the rider that was a jerk.
Hard to understand why so many here have a hatred for Harley riders. Maybe it's because there are more Harley's in the world than all other motorcycles combined.
Alright I'll stop, Jack
way, way off with this statement.
Sounds like you ran into a poser. He probably thinks that to be a man, you have to chew tobacco, wear cowboy boots, drive a jacked up 4 wheel drive pickup, ride a large, noisy motorcycle, and point out to others what he sees wrong with their choices.
Hopefully, he will eventually figure out, it isn't what you ride, it's that you ride.
I've been riding since 1954, I ride what I like, others can do the same.

Started on a Cushman, then Whizzer Sportsman, (they made them in my hometown), then went to a Triumph Tiger Cub, I'm not sure I remember all of them, but I do remember never being bored. Started on the street, went to the dirt, now back on street. Not bad for a beginner.Been riding since 1951 John. Your just a beginner. :joke:
Had a Cushman and a Harley Hummer. All dirt roads and 1100 acres of ranch to ride on. I miss those days.
Remember John "it takes two hands for beginners".
Jack
Just in case someone asks you folks, a three wheel vehicle with side by side seats and a steering wheel is titled in Texas as an Autocycle....my friend has a new Slingshot....nice 4 cyl engine....runs like a hose.
