There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. I am revolking my Retirement Status !!!

From now on my status is "I Quit". See--- when one retires some people come out of the woodwork with little projects for the retired person to do-initiate-correct-complete-finish. They don't believe the retired person has earned the right to pursue their own dreams--they are worried we will have nothing to do. Thus "retirement" has become a bad word. Quit is a good word--allowing the retiring person to work on their own personal projects at a rate acceptable to the one who has earned the right.

A very good idea. :yes::yes:

So far, I am able to use my spare time for afternoon rides (in season) and back to getting in a couple hours a day on the guitar.

Quitting

First of all congrats on your quitting
I have heard most people that retire say that they are now busier than ever before! now I get why they say that they are so busy so that no one will bother them and they can do there own thing, makes total sense to me now.
I am taking notes on Quitting/Retirement as I will be doing so in February :yes:

Yea, about 5 yrs ago I finally said enough is enough. I was blessed to have a 42 yr. career as a sculptor. I got to work in all the major mediums, never punched anyones time clock and managed to get my children thru college and onto their own careers (one as a painter). But the time came when my body said no more heavy metal fabricating and my mind said "enough, you said all you need to say" Ha,Ha,Ha,, Then I bought a '09 RS SE5. I didn't like the way I sat on it so I redesigned it and came up with the Seal Floorboard. So much for retirement. Since then (now 73), I've been on a dead run to keep up with the demand for production and new models. Mind you, I'm hardly complaining, this 4th quarter of my life has been one of the most exciting times of my ever. Having a beautiful new wife of one year and getting to be the lead singer in an old guys rock band doesn't suck either. Retirement....:yikes: :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: Life is too busy. Today, I live and........

"I QUIT"

I retired five years ago. I too have been plagued with many requests, both professional and personal, to get involved with projects that conflict with my retirement. I simply recall the words of Nancy Reagan first spoken on January 4, 1989 and "just say no!".

I never told anybody I retired. Every day I leave the house as if I am going to work. Go get a doughnut & come back home after an hour or so. Nobody suspects a thing.

Thus "retirement" has become a bad word.

Retirement is an excellent word in my book. When people ask me what I do, I say I'm retired. Don't got to do nothing. Nothing! NOTHING!

Let's return the word "retirement" to it's rightful place.

Retired!Retired!Retired!Retired!
Retired!Retired!Retired!Retired!

Retired!Retired!Retired!Retired!
Retired!Retired!Retired!Retired!

Retired!Retired!Retired!Retired!
Retired!Retired!Retired!Retired!

Etc

Well..!!

I totally agree....just been retired so long now I don't think I can quit..!! :roflblack::roflblack:

Would love to quit but I gotta pay for the Spyder first. Either that or win the Lotto. Guess I'll have to put in the rest of my 20yrs to get a pension.

I love retirement. You are never done. When you do nothing and think you are done you still have nothing to do!!!:yes::yes::yes::yes::yes:

My Dear Wife used to tell me, with a punch in the arm, "Don't tell people you're retired, they'll
think you're a layabout."

So I asked what should I say when asked what I do ? She smartly replied "tell them you're engaged
in agriculture activity."

:agree: & have fun with my retiree buds.
"Nothing to do, All day to get there. NOW OUTTA MY WAY!":yikes::roflblack::roflblack: My situation is quite diffrent as I am forced into (early retirement more or less from my injury, sux but I understand completly. But from my observations of my buds the people asking for help really perfer the profesional manner the project is done with out the second guessing & BS , it just gets done & right, the first time. :firstplace: Fyi.

Retired/quit 12/31/2009..................when did I ever have time to work?:dontknow: I think that I will take a ryde this morning!

I was told many years ago, when I first began my career as a sculptor, that "It is never work unless there is something you'd rather be doing". Following that logic, I retired i 1970 and haven't worked a day since then. My 76 yr. ood brother just started a new company. His advice to me is "It does;t matter what you re doing, just stay relevant and keep your brain active. Spyder riding does that for me just watching out for the other crazies on the road....lots of mental activity there!
