• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

This should get people talking

I'll be keeping my PE edition, but am thrilled they are expanding the Spyder line!

As far as real road tests - of course they do it. Here in Michigan we see prototype cars tooling around often - or at least we used to!

The price will likely be MUCH higher as well...argh!

I figure I have about 25K in mine right now and a new Goldwing with a trike kit is going to run you 35K or more so even at 22K this would still be a bargin and you're getting a lot more for your money. :doorag:

I totally agree...I think I'd rather modify what I have than go out and buy a new bike every year or two. I guess this is just the beginning for our beloved Can-Am...it's exciting though.

You're probably right...low 20s...they're not gonna go much higher or else they'll lose too many people...

Would you get rid of your bike with all you've done to it to make it the ultimate spyder?

I'm pretty much locked in to this Spyder. I have made it the long haul and cruiser that I wanted it to be. You got to understand I never thought I would be riding this thing cross country or doing 1200 mile days on it either.

The Spyder has evolved into something more than I had ever expected. If I knew what I know now and the RT was available I would probably gone with the RT. Not that I would have left it alone, I would have still done some Lamonster mods on it to make it special.:doorag:

Now if they had a sport version too that would be a tuff call. The only thing that would make me think twice about the sport version is the tickets I already have. :opps: If I had Jay Leno's money and shop I would have at least one of each. nojoke

I think it would be great if they kept our Spyder, a Touring Spyder and a sport version with more hp and a programmable nanny so if we wanted we could switch it on and off. Maybe do the key thing where depending what key you used you could have a race mode or a street mode. I know I would love to do a little drifting on the track. :doorag:[/quote]

Lamont who are you kiding (programmable nanny switch:roflblack:)I though you spelled that NOS switch:ohyea:

And then came a 2 wheeled Can Am Touring bike..... OOPS shut my mouth :hun:

Funny you say that...the BRP rep. didn't know but he did say in Florida that they are working on a lot of things and they're not all 3 wheels! Who knows...

As far as touring and sport go...ours would be the middle, and that's fine with me...it's customizable enough to make it 'just yours.'

Like Lamont, I'm happy with what I have and I'll keep tinkering with it to get it just right! Once bitten, in love!

I'll be happy to tour around with my 08 and Givi's and maybe a trailer in the future.

The RT may not even appeal to me from a "looks" perspective, though it will be interesting to see if some things can be ordered and transplanted to our Spyders... ie; floorboards, etc.

Could this be the understatement of the year? :D :D :joke:

I must be psychic... I posted this 2/17/09.... on another thread on this website...

And it will have trailer hitch, and cruise control, and I predict a redesigned windshield and dash.
1. The dash will be larger, just above those two circles...in the middle a fixed box/compartment with options of choice to be installed: such as a Communications Center/CB or a nice built in GPS/Radio.
2. Windshield will be tinted, a touring windshield but not adjustable, because the dash will be higher.
3. Seats will be saddles not sawhorses.
4. There will be at least one 12v on the dash.
5. Rear fender will be redesigned for the trailer hitch, but you will know it is a Spyder.
6. There will be fog lights on the front struts that might even move when you turn.

I can only dream.... but dream I will

I must say that Lamonster has a lot of connections with BRP and "other" sources (so just where did the picture come from???). My guess, based on the optics of it all, is that Lamonster is actually working for BRP or in conjunction with BRP in a clandestine stealthy kinda way to promote the Spyder and gather feedback from the spyder community for BRP. Come on Lamonster fess up :clap::clap:

A conspiracy...I love it! :2thumbs:
