• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Uh-oh! What is this?

Mighty and numerous Spyder sages, I have a problem.:pray::bowdown::bowdown: Specifically, my Spyder is piddling on my garage floor when I'm not looking, and has on my driveway also.
From what I see in the garage, I have 2 puddles side by side located roughly just in back of the "wings" of my front wheel arms.
I have asked her if she wants a litter box, but she refuses to answer me.

The liquid looks like a very light pink water, and is slightly slippery when rubbed between my fingers.

Can you tell me what the fluid is, and can I add more so that I can safely ride it 100 miles to the dealer for whatever fix is needed before the snow falls?
Thanks,
Pete

Worth checking all fluids. If has a bitter smell may be brake fluids not something you want to try 100mile dealer trip on. Laydown some news paper large enough to cover from foot pegs or floor boards to the front, & as wide as both tires, take pics if you can get good view before you move bike. Dealer will have to pull tupperware off to look for wetspots & splatter. Be prepared will not be quick. :coffee: Hope is simple for you.

ANTI-FREEZE

IMHO.......just re-move the Tupperware on the right side. It may just be a clamp, or the tank may have a crack...this is a known issue.............Mike .................. PS, It's always a good idea to tell us what Spyder you have and the year..........sometimes it makes a BIG difference .........Nice color combo!!!!

Thanks! Any suggestions as to where I go from here?
The temps have been in the 50's here; do you think that the wind chill driving at freeway speeds would provide enough cooling to safely get to the dealer?
Or maybe I should just contact the dealer for their opinion...........

Can't tell whether you have an RS or an ST and your profile doesn't specify which.

If you can, pull off the right side Tupperware just above the radiator cutout. If you look in you'll see a hose coming from the bottom of the coolant tank going into the top of the water pump; this hose has a worm clamp instead of a crimp clamp. On my ST and several others here, that clamp was loose. A couple of turns of a screwdriver was enough to stop the leak.

Thanks! you are a huge help!

Yep, sounds like anty freeze. For confirmation find a stray cat and have them taste test it for you. (just kidding)

New spyders seem to do this, mine leaked a little from the top radiator hose

Lol. I may have to see about getting more added, depending on the reservoir size since I have lost a bit. Well, that's tomorrow's job I guess.

ANTI-FREEZE

If the anti-freeze is low and you have to ADD some .......BRP uses a type ( they claim ) shouldn't be mixed with other types ( I believe them )......Be careful when putting the cap back on it's very easy to NOT GET IT TIGHT and this will cause it to over-flow making the problem worse.........good luck......Mike

Colour combo

If it wasn't for the F3-S, I would have bought a 2015 RS-S with same colour combo has yours. Love the colour combo.

I hadn't gotten around to (maybe) thinking of that, so Thanks! Lol, I'll probably have to have the dealer mail some to me, tho I'm just guessing.
I just got my first look at the the cap, so I still have a panel to remove to get to the heart of the matter.

When replacing the cap, it has two detents, so don't stop at the first, keep turning. You should feel both of them before trusting that it is tight.
