• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Helmet Won't Fit In Side Compartment

Synthetic

I have an Arai CT-Z open face helmet with a Sena 20S set up on it.....side door will not shut with helmet inside....any ideas to make it fit?
Doesn't look like I'll be able to use it for my helmet but thought I'd ask for help just in case....thanks in advance for any help...
PS the helmet would not fit before I installed the Sena 20S on it...the Sena made it worse of course

Sometimes a helmet just wont fit in the bags....

Right side with the open end toward the center of the bike and the front of the helmet toward the front of the bike. A full face with a Sena will fit this way.

I have an RT Limited and put my helmet in the frunk.

Risk acceptance

I put mine on the seat.Lots of room.Been riding for over 40 years never lost one yet

Lots of riders have never gone down but still wear a helmet. Others have had accidents but still do not wear a helmet. It's all about the level of risk in your particular area and which risks you are willing to take. I happen to always wear a helmet and usually lock it or take it with me. But then I live in a pretty built-up area of Massachusetts. I still wore the helmet but rarely locked it when I was in Kansas. Different risk environments.

Spot on!

Yep......demographics and risk factor...we live where it is pretty safe and helmets go in the trunk when we are traveling and are either;

Somewhere they might get stolen......

Or....

If we are going inside somewhere and it is about to storm.......

Other than that, they sit on the seats...

But yes, that right side hardbag is a Tad deeper and just try all the "what if's"....It oughta go in unless it is a XXXL....

only place my full face helmet fits in my 2014 spyder is in the frunk... but when on a trip.. frunk is taken up by the rolling luggage carrier... don't understand why BRP could not have designed a rear or side compartment that would accommodate a helmet.. :gaah:

I have a helmet lock and cable that I wrap around the passenger hand grips. Works well and I don't have to wrestle with getting my full face Shoei and Sena 20S in the side compartments or the frunk.

Full face with Sena 20s fits

It has to go in a very specific way in the bigger saddle bag but it fits fine.

My wife's medium Shoei RF-1100 full face helmet fits in the right side of my 2011 RT. My 2xl won't so I usually put it in the frunk.

Full Face Arai Fits

In the right side. We don't do that, any more as we use Lidlox a sponsor on this site. We lock both helmets on the handle bars. We are on a one week 1000 mile trip right now and both saddle bags and the back trunk, and frunk are full of bags so we have no place for helmets. We leave them locked all the time. We usually bring them inside at night to Hotel room etc. This is a great option, easy to install, and very reasonably priced,a they give you a lot more storage space.
