• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Belt vibrations

Ian wondering as an owner of two Spyders, does the belt shake experienced on both bikes cause any long term damage?

No; it's just there to let you know that you've reached that "magical speed range"...:D

...And to give folks something to complain about on the internet! :joke::roflblack:

Agree..!!

:agree: but it has given for many interesting attempts at solving the issue. There are some that help but very hard to do due to the length of the belt. Though it causes no damage I zip past and drop down quickly to avoid it. Once you know where it is not hard to do....

I've normally heard of it as coming in at around 75 mph or so. I'm not sure how the rpm levels work out.

+1 on that. This weekend felt some vibration at 75 to 80 on the PA turnpike. And I have the smooth spyder tensioner. Don't really feel it otherwise. It was a lot worse before I installed the tensioner. Didn't bother me much because I usually don't use the turnpike. It seems now that it happens in fifth gear at higher rpm's. Before I was getting the vibration in third gear and fourth year just on back roads. That's gone now.

My 2010 used to buzz a bit at 75 mph... I used it to remind me to slow down... nojoke
But the 2014... I have honestly NOT found a buzz in it's belly anywhere! I think that they forgot to install it!

With my 2014 RTL, it happens at around 70-72 mph but clears out at 75. I just got back from an 800 mile trip and frankly, I consider it a not issue. Even when it's there it isn't a big deal, but in any case I can change my speed a little and it goes away.
