• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Slingshot has me curious!

I just picked up a 2015 Scout. Wish I would have waited till the '16's were out.
It is the most comfortable, smoothest and fastest motorcycle I've ever owned. Highly recommended!

We were eyeballin' a SS at the dealer where we picked up the Scout. Not enough time to check it out further. :(

Really beautiful bike! Indian is now a real force to be reckoned with!:doorag:

Probably one of the most fun vehicle you could own and not worry to much about...a ratty old convertible. Lots of old miatas, vw's, del sol's, mitsubishi spyders, hot rod and luxury convertibles out there for much less. While the Slingshots are made for all weather exposure, most will will probably get garaged, but many will probably look much like a weathered jet ski or snowmobile soon enough, the materials are no better.

Are you saying there was a loony in the Redwoods and Batman had his lair there?

C/mon... what are the odd of this happening?? :D
I've met Dave's wife. She is a very nice gal, who loves to ride. But I don't think Dave has a prayer of taking over the entire garage. ;)

I know that sure wouldn't work at my house. :sour:

:agree: There's a better chance of US ending up outside! :yikes:

Chance of that happening??? ZERO!!! My garage is stuffed. Not parking the truck outside either:roflblack:. If Sharon ever decides to get her MC endorsement I think she would figure out a way to get a second Spyder inside:yikes:

slingshot

Just my two cents worth on the SLINGSHOT. First impression, AWESOME, hence forth the test drive, got to have about 45 minutes, in it, salesman not really that helpfull on the controls, but we figured it out. WINDSHIELD WAY TOO SHORT, if my helmut not done up would have been gone. ENTRY/EXIT, very hard for someone with long legs, EASE OF CONTROLS, manual transmission with reverse and back up camera ( centre rear view mirror USELESS ) over the fin style style decoration, rear end NOT PRETTY LOOKING, HEAT FROM ENGINE, on floorboards ( spyder has nothing on this ), my son was in shorts and made a comment it was way too hot, Overall has lots of bottom end torque ( easily smoke the rear tire ) as evidenced by the lak of rubber, ( new tire approx 600 bucks )all the weight up front, maxed out at 140kmh, kinda dissapointing as a way bigger engine than the spyder, stereo, cruise control, can't remember if cup holders or not, brakes seemed kinda week, overall, was a nice test ride, but would I trade it for the spyder or buy one. NO, the creme de la creme, was sitting on the side of the highway for about 15 minutes while the POLICE did their thing as when they ran the plate , nothing showed up. It was beuracratic mixup with dmv and registration issues, all was good, was late getting back to the dealership as they were closed, salesman not impressed, thank god the Officer gave me his card in case of any issues. P.S. The glove compartment in on the passenger side, tucked way underneath the dash board, found that out looking for insurance and registration.... Seat's not that comfy, ( hard pressed to do a 300 mile ride ). Not really sure what else to say. Cool factor , overall awesome, other than that make your own impression. The unit I drove had about 9k on it and was a sale price of 26k with gst and everything, with a ONE YEAR WARRANTY. Just my two cent's worth.

Get used to it Ann...... If you try to keep up with us in the twisties, that's all you will see anyway........ :roflblack:

Only playin...... the rear does need a better look.......

If I want to keep up with you in the twisties, I have a supercar for that. When I want to have fun on a bike, I drive my F3.... Really don't see the need for a slingshot that is not good at either one.

It's funny that you say this... I gave one of these convertibles a lesson in cornering at the Rte. 28 traffic circle, that is just West of Kingston, NY
He plowed in the turns; just like an old John Deere MT! nojoke

Saw a red Slingshot downtown tonight during our Nightfall Music Series. My girlfriend now wants me to trade or sell my :spyder2: and buy a Slingshot! Man folks surrounded it taking pictures like it was a celebrity..well I guess it is!!

as everyone else has suggested, take a test ride (with your woman) and see for yourself. I rode in one two weeks ago and they are very low to the ground, a bit difficult to get into and VERY ROUGH RIDING!! Plus all of the other comments on this site...
Just my opinion. My 2014 RT Limited is many times a much better and enjoyable machine.
BIG F

I rented a slingshot for a day up at Maggie Valley. It was a blast. I did not notice any heat problem. Love the way it corners. Acceleration was great. My plan is to add one to my stable of toys. You only live once.

Motorcycle type or car???

I'm sorry, but I still don't see how Polaris EVER convinced ANY state government or federal government that this is a motorcycle type vehicle classification. The only similarity is the fact it has 3 wheels.

Polaris gets past ALL the safety standards that are mandatory for car manufactures (all because it only has 3 wheels)... Air bags, impact (crash) studies (ratings), Stricter emission controls systems, tire monitor systems... the list can go on & on & on.

How long till all the BIG auto manufacture remove a wheel to get their CARS cheaper because there is less BS with all the government requirements that there are for automobiles.

As I see it Polaris really lucked out on this otherwise the price would be double for their Slingshot, and would never sell (If they had to meet automotive standard safety / emission stuff).

:dontknow: All I do know is I'm sticking to my Spyder, & my dual sport bike!

:agree:The new Indian is def a hot bike!
Interesting comments. It just so happens that there is a brand new Indian/Victory/Slingshot dealership in Chattanooga over near Pandora BMW.

Crockettpowersports.com

Was over there yesterday, I think they are going to be a good customer oriented Dealership. BTW......The new Indians are very nice.

nojoke It's how thew game is played... They took advantage of the safety standards for motorcycles.
Smart business move!
