• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Added Baker Air Wings - Very Nice!

Hope to do a ride with them tomorrow. Installation was easy, instructions were clear enough. I decided to go clear with a white RT, didn't see any advantage to smoked plastic. These are the "new style" which are polycarbonate.

I have, like I believe a few other have mentioned, noticed a warmer man land since installing the Ultimate seat. No worries, the seat is great, but making a more dished seat pan probably puts the gang a bit closer to the engine heat. Hoping the wings will reduce that a bit.

I added the simple adjustable 3 position upper set (under the mirrors) that BRP puts out. I really like em. Nice to have the extra airflow when ya want it.

Replacing a Spyder seat isn't difficult but it is tedious and more complicated that most motorcycle seats. There is a youtube video that explains it pretty well.

There is a tool, a rotator ratchet, which is almost necessary to remove the two screws that are the hinge in the back of the seat.

The short version:
  • Remove the compressed air seat lifter
  • Remove the two screws at the back of the seat
  • Remove the electrical connection
  • Remove hardware from seat and replace on the Ultimate seat (tool pouch won't go on the ultimate seat, find a new place)
  • Reverse the procedure to install the Ultimate seat. I've done two and on both I used a ratchet strap to pull the Ultimate seat back as far as it would go, which is what it needs to line up properly.
  • Finally, there is a screw that goes from the seat into a locking mechanism. I had to lower the screw a bit to get the lock to work.

Good luck, well worth the effort.

I love my Baker Air Wings, if you still feel warm you might try switching out the fixed BRP deflectors for the adjustable ones. You should be able to pick them up used from anyone with a 13 RT, as they are removed when the recall is done.

The cool thing is if you have a great dealer like I do they can put it on for you! No Charge!

Looks good. How do you like the Ultimate seat over the stock.Plus how hard to replace the seat.
Bill

i love the seat. My bad back wouldn't let me stay on the OEM seat more than an hour or so. Much better now.

Ultimate put the seat on at a show. They ship the old one home for you. Worked for me.

A good tip, though I probably won't need them.

Ride report -- 91 today with a heat index of 106. Much more comfortable with the wings installed. Only thing to remember is bugs get deflected off the wings into the legs. That included a couple of honeybees when I was in the orange groves.

Have both the BRP adjustable deflectors as well as the baker air wings. Install the baker air wings first. Heard folks talk about using the BRP for additional airflow. Picked up a set during Spyderfest. I was surprised how much more air flow control adding the BRP adjustables gives. Now that I have both it would be tough to go back to only The baker air wings
