Fair price for rt622 trailer

Am thinking about making an offer to someone for a "low mileage" 2012 rt622 white trailer with hitch. Wanted to get some opinions on what would be a fair price. I'm unsure what the trailer went for new but I checked and the hitch is 499.99 new.

Any suggestions appreciated

The retail on the trailer in 2012 was around $5,000. The hitch @ $500 includes the module because without it the hitch isn't much good. My guess is that a good price on the trailer today would be $2,000 depending on what extras are include like the hitch stand, etc .

$2000 might even be a bit optimistic - it certainly would be a great buy. The 622 s are holding their value well, especially since the Freedom trailer has come out with lower capacity and manufactured from plastic instead of fiberglass

Control module for hitch question

I may need to purchase the control module separately as part of my offer. I don't see it listed on the can am site separately and was wondering if anyone had an idea of the price on that?

$2000 would be a "steal"

If you were able to pay $2000 just for the 622 it would be a great buy. Then pay extra for hitch and harness....A 622 in great shape is not going to lose much value IMHO...they are a well made and great trailer.

Don't know..!!

but have not seen any 622 trailers offered at that price. Then again there is no worse off than the one you never made. They can counter offer..:dontknow: you can check about..google ebay amazone etc to see what they are selling for...

Additional cost for control module

Yes, I'm leaning towards making an offer. Was trying to figure out additional cost of control module as It would not be included with trailer and hitch.

TAKE IT

If you could get that trailer for 2k you better grab it before the owner figures out what its worth because that is a steal. Ever since the new freedom trailers came out, (smaller and made out of plastic), the rt-622 have held their value very well if not gone up somewhat. I just bought a 2013 white rt-622 from Ride Now Powersports out of Tucson Arizona for 3200.00 and that was a very good deal. The fewer of these left the more they are worth. That plus they are just a darn good looking trailer that matches the bike perfectly. Just my 2 pennies worth.;)

Was your $3,200 for a new Rt-622

Bob, just curious if the price you paid was a new left over or was that a used trailer price? If it was used, do you mind me asking what year and condition was it in?

thanks in advance.

Rt-622

It is a used, pearl white 2013. Mine is in mint condition. The only thing that kept me from knowing that it was not new was the paperwork and an eagle sticker that the previous owner had put on it but I like the sticker so it is going to stay. They stopped making them in year model 2014, but they stopped making the pearl white in 2013. I have not heard of anybody that has a new one. The 2013's on the market used in good condition are running about 4k, so 2k would be a steal.:D

I also bought my RT-622 from Ride Now Power Sports out of Tucson Arizona. I live in Mooresville, NC and that was the only place that had a 2014 cognac color trailer. I paid $3500 plus shipping to get it since it was the last one he had. My 2014 RTL SE6 is also cognac in color. I bought the hitch and wiring harness along with the stand, spare tire and cover for the trailer separately. I still think I got a good deal since I was looking at spending $5k on just the trailer.

Thanks,
Steve

Bob,

Did you get your trailer from RideNow on Ina? If so, I can tell you that it has very low miles. I actually bought the 2013 RTL, but we really had no use for the trailer. The :spyder2: itself only had 4200 miles on it when we bought it in May.

Seems the RT622s are actually appreciating in value. I bought my first one in 2012, and at that time dealers were deeply discounting them and even offering to color match them to move them out of inventory. It's as good or better a trailer as any available, and you won't be sorry you bought it. I just invested a grand in having my 2013 color matched to my cognac 2014 RT-S.
