• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Still not sure

I have a 2013 RTL with the upgrade done and it looks and runs great, but I am still looking at the 2014 and 2015 RTL's some of the timegs that I have a question on are

1. 600W vs 1200W Alternator - will that make a difference with adding lights or other farkles

2. Trans 5 speed vs 6 speed and needless to say

3. the 1330 engine

what are your thoughts

the higher output alternator will help with lots of added farkles, the 6 speed trans is great to have and with the 1330 the bike pulls great so less shifting

If its not about the money, a change is sure worth considering.

Now there are three issues in the pot.

:ani29:: 2014's are getting harder to find new. Pricing is blowout level--very good for the buyer.

:ani29:: 2015's are getting cleared out early. Not much change mechanically, but the red color is stunning.

:ani29:: Yesterday, a thread saying that BRP is going to announce 2016 information at Sturgis on 7/31/15 at 1:00 PM. Something new, something different?????? :bbq::bbq:

I have two :spyder2: The 998 version (2011) and the 1330 version (2014). My opinion, night and day. Quieter, smoother, more torque, less maintenance, almost 10 mpg better.

Decisions, decisions, decisions. Let us know what you do.

As good as the 998 RTs are... the traits that you have mentioned do nothing but improve the bikes! nojoke

Go test ride them. They will sell themselves or you will decide it's more advantageous to keep what you have, although I doubt the latter will happen.

Gotta say..!!

If money and the love of the big twin is not on your mind you will be signing papers right after the test ryde. Of course the new models are a couple of months off and jthey did introduce the ST in 2013, the new RT 1330 in 2014 and the F3 for 2015.....what might be in store for 2016..:dontknow:

I was in your same situation. I had a 2013 RTL. I had very little problem with it other than the fuel smell lingering in the garage after a ride. (Come to find out, that was more than a little hazardous!) It all came down to the fact I loved to ride a Spyder but got REALLY tired of the games BRP was playing with the 2013 folks. The '13 got a bad rep, and I didn't want to wait around for the "final fix"! Sooo, I traded for a leftover 2014 RTS after some rave reviews and a year of testing by the folks on this site! :D I love the motor! The tranny/clutch is much improved and the RANGE, oh the RANGE!!! Now I don't have to gas up until the rest of the folks I ride with are ready. 225 miles is easy as opposed to the old 180/start to worry! If you enjoy your 2013 and you have the means, grab a 2014 or '15. You won't be sorry! Good luck!

what are your thoughts[/QUOTE]

My thoughts are..... Glad I waited for the triple. I hear the twin runs okay, and is a revver, but
also hear plenty of issues about it. It's just that the 1330 is SO EFFORTLESS as is goes about it's business.
Hey, ride one. Then you'll know
