• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ignition key DESS problem

Well I have my bike back with ignition switch and DESS replaced along with both spark plugs as it wouldn't start after the switch and DESS was replaced. No codes retrievable by BUDS. Service manager claims there is no service bulletin for the RS's, just for the RT's. Yet they replace the same parts on mine and that fixes the problem:lecturef_smilie::lecturef_smilie: Was nice to get back and ride even if it was 95 degrees today!! 10 days total without the bike for a less than 2 hour repair:mad::mad::mad:

But the upside was no charge for pick up from my workplace in the next town over~ 30+ miles and repairs covered 100% by warranty.

Now for a new rear tire and I'm ready to roll in September to Spyder Quest

Great to hear it's fixed. Why did they change the ignition switch? That seems just a waste of parts and time for a bad DESS.

Good to hear..!!

Try claiming that tire under warranty...:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: glad your up and running once more. Those ignition switches are happening all around. Recently saw one on the F3. Wonder if they really know which ones or this is a fix it as it happens....:dontknow:

YOUR ISSUE

Glad they didn't charge you, .....glad they got it fixed.:clap::clap:......However on the " CODES NOT BEING RETREVABLE " by BUDS......I'm not buying that........Nothing in a computer, any computer disappears .....not even if you delete it ( like on your home computer ),...it's in there .......My dealer told me a similar line of BS about the codes.........and they couldn't fix it etc.etc., then at Spyderfest , a BRP tech looked at it and brought back 246 codes over about 14 previous months .......THAT WEREN'T THERE ....ACCORDING TO MY DEALER ........Everything that happens to your Spyder is in the computer.......just sayin........................Mike :thumbup::thumbup:

Mike, That's what I thought also. This is the second time this has happened, the first time after it sat idle and unstarted for ~ 2 days it then read the key and started without a problem. Was told there were no codes then either. Makes no sense. Well on another note PM me about replacment rear tires, in need of one prior to coming to visit you and Spyder Quest in September.
