• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ordering from Kewlmetal

BLACK WIDOW

Has anyone had difficulty ordering products from Kewlmetal. I have been trying (with great difficulty) to order their highway brackets and since they have no on line ordering provision, and are not using Pay-Pal, a phone # is provided which no one ever answers except for a machine that suggests I use E-Mail to order. When I do that I am instructed to provide no credit card info, so I send a E-Mail asking for instructions that no one ever answers (at least not yet). This seems like a very cumbrous process to simply place an order.:gaah:

Shoot a PM to Madd Matt he is usually pretty quick to help. Also there is a post with his direct number in it and he has been great to deal with and will get one of the others to call you back almost imediately to help you with the order. I've never had this problem but have heard a few others have had problems like this.

yep..i sent email and left a phone message several months ago ....never heard back....

I ordered something online and right at the end it said error 404 so I waited a few days and decided to call and see if they got the order. A person named Hilda answered the phone and said the web site was new and I was probably the first one to try to order anything. She took my order and was very nice so hopefully I will get what I ordered with no problem. The weird thing is that she didn't ask for an email address and I got a confirmation email from them. I'm confused but just hope I get what I ordered.

We are here,

We are a small family run business and provide personal service to all of our customers, we don't have a room full of phone answering staff who know nothing about our products! We handle literally hundreds of calls a day.

Order line is 623-298-7191. They get busy so just call back till you get through.

My line is 623-298-7835

If I am on the phone when you call, leave a message and I will call you back most times in minutes if I am in the office, otherwise within hours.

Thanks for your patience, also, our on-line ordering will be up and running within a week or two. We have been working hard on this to try and make ordering easier for everyone.

Matt

I called KewlMetal on May 11 and was helped by a very pleasent young lady. I was told that the mirror extensions were back ordered but should be shipped within a week and I would recieve a tracking number when they were shipped. That young lady was true to her word as I recieved the tracking number a few days later and the mirror extensions five days aftere that. I am very happy with the product and service.

Firefly,

Yes you can, MM is a dealer for all Kewlmetal parts.

Just keep in mind that when we run out here at the manufacturer, the whole supply chain will run dry until we can start shipping again. We are forced to run leaner than we would like because of the slow economy so we are having 2-3 week periods of being out of stock while we wait on product from our suppliers. It's no fun for us either to be out of stock so please be patient. The good news is that the Spyder products are selling so well, we keep running out!!

Sorry, but I don't get how a company can run out of items like the mirror extensions. Once your inventory drops to a certain level - order the next batch. Any decent inventory software will do all this for you - will even create a purchase order and send it to your supplier. I would think an item like that you would want to make batches of at least 500 pairs per order. If you're running out often then you need to order more and keep them stocked - pretty simple stuff - unless of course these things are being made in China---:lecturef_smilie:

:agree: but on the other hand when your relying on a 3rd party Machine Shop as i believe the kind folks at Kewlmetal are sometimes you are out of inventory and waiting for them to get the items made.

i'm not a business owner so Just my .02 cents as i've had to wait on machine shops in the past when i was an auto mechanic.....

Machine shops are begging for business right now - should be ready to bend over backwards to fill orders.

.
But... if they're selling the majority through other parties, such as NMN, one order can wipe the small inventory out.

Inventory setting on shelves does not make money... and I know for a fact that KewlMetal makes a lot of stuff for other bikes, too.

Just my $0.02... don't need change. :ohyea:

I needed to talk to them last week. Called the number, got an immediate answer, and had resolution within 10 minutes

Still swollen and sore but all went well. Surgeon said I was lucky...it was about 95% blocked. Took 45 minutes more than he estimated.

Thanks for asking. Can't wait to get back in the saddle!!
