I rode upto Laconia today with mastertek2000 and his wife, got to see the trunk first hand, very impressive. Rock solid and done very well, placed aerodynamicly behind the saddle backs, heat shielding from exhaust.

Really handy trunk, sometimes a trailers just too much and you just want that little bit of extra room, this fits the bill perfectly.

    Nice, clean professional looking job.

Is the trunk permanently mounted on the bike? Or does it come on and off?

I like the idea that there are no trailer wheel bearings to repack,no need for a spare...but,I would like it wired for lights and maybe have a temporary mount for the license plate...I can't make out if that is the plate or a tag on the box....I think you can sell these!!

well i put over 4000 miles on the bike with rear trunk everything went perfect total weight with trunk and cargo was 55LBS need a few days of rest then will take rear tire off inspect for abnormal wear on stuff the bike preformed great i could not ask for a better bike the rear trunk was like it was not even there the extra space was great and was able to use easy-pass on toll where with a trailer they charge you more on tolls did not notice on fuel MPG will remove rear trunk and see what i can with out it i am sure there will be some change with more weight you all ways use more fuel

Any word on if you plan to make and sell this trunk rack? Will it work on a 2014 RT-S? Love the concept.

. Last post before yours was juuust a few years ago SignDude.... ie, August 2012!

Might be best off to try sending a PM to mastertek2000 in the hope that he's got email notifications turned on, but it looks like he hasn't been on the Forum for about a year now either.

That said, I reckon any real weight cantilevered waaay out the back of your Spyder like that is going to make things really iffy for control & braking; you'd hafta be better off investing in a hitch & tow-behind trailer, even if it is a swing-arm/rear axle mounted hitch & a harbour freight trailer with tiny wheels rated for speeds less than 45mph!

    Your call tho, Good Luck!

Actually Peter I don't see where this would be any worse then the 40# hitch weight we run when we pull a trailer. You could just get a hitch from BRP or any of the accessory people put a plate on it and get a plastic bin like he shows in th pictures and as long as you keep to the 40# it should be ok.
