I have a 70lb pit bull search dog that rides quite comfortably on the back of my Spyder RS. We fabricated a 24" x 18" plastic box/seat that is bolted onto a metal expansion plate that is the size of the base of the seat. That is bolted onto a Kewl Metal luggage rack. The seat has a windshield, a tuck and roll padded interior and there are eye bolts on the inside that I secure the dog's harness to. It is long enough that she can lie down when she gets tired of sitting up on long rides. I also have tail lights with turn signals on the back of the seat. The seat goes on and comes off real easy and can be both installed and removed in under 5 minutes.
That is very cool. Do you have to pick her up to get in it or does she jump on the seat?

Looks great!!! I could think of doing something like this if I didn't ryde with my hubby as passenger most of the time. The unit that would work probably best for us would be the Bushtec Tow-tow. It would be pretty pricey to get the Tow-two and set my Spyder RS up for towing. But, it's a nice unit.
Sorry for threadjacking your post to bring up a tow unit. You did a real nice job with the mounted box. Windshield is a nice touch!!
Looks great Kris! Tahoe looks right at home on the back of your Spyder. Looking forward to seeing you, Tahoe, and your other "Spyder Pits" around soon.
We are a happy THREE Spyder family!

Very cool. I wonder if my cat would like to go for a ride on my Spyder.
Has anyone found a decent solution for carrying a smaller dog? We have a sh itzu-terrier mix (18 lbs) and he needs to ryde. We have looked at some front packs and cases to strap down but no real solid answer.

I've been looking for a way to take my 30 lb pup along with me so I wouldn't have to leave her behind on road trips, but haven't found a decent carrier...till today. haha but with my future in trucking, it might now happen for a while (financially).
Great pics and video. Now you have my husband making plans for a carrier for our 46 lb border collie/lab mix. It'd be so cool for the "family" to travel together.
I'm looking into a small carrier so that my little buddy Stumpy can come along on some rides. See, Stumpy is my ferret and he would hang out in his hammock for the ryde but also have food and water in case he gets the munchies. Another in flight accommodation for him would be his litter box....hey, when you gotta go, you gotta go.
If I get it just right, it will make a good back support for me.
That is freekin awesome!!!! It makes me think that only another 20lbs and longer legs might be possible.....at least for one at a time..

I have a Yorkie and a Yorkie Poo. I have car seats for both of them and can use the car seats on the bikes.... I used to have an RS now I have an RT. On the bikes the car seats pretty much hook up the same. Hook the dogs in, put on their Doggles and away we go. If I knew how to post a picture I would do so, but I don't so go to PetsMart.com to look at the car carriers.
