That works on a giraffe also, if you can catch one and climb up it's neck!!

Actually it is quite unique and I like it, must save getting scratched all up.

    Talking Thanks Firefly

I am so try'n that as soon as I get home

Over the winter, there were a few days that were too cold for Teddy to Ryde, and I hated leave'n the lil guy home all alone so I went to the pound & adopted him his own pet

At the time, she was just a cute lil fluff-ball of a kitten that fit in the palm of my hands Now, at 6 months, she's bigger than Teddy & beats the out of him whenever she feels like it

Try'n to groom her has been a never ending battle but armed with this lil trick, I might actually have the upper hand

Ok, I'll admit it I might let him get a couple of licks in as well

I would try it using your hand first--- pick your catboy up by the scruff and get a feel for what area works best and how much pressure, etc....

It's a very natural thing as this is how their mothers carry them-- even in the wild - large cats carry the same way. Must be some kind of 'spock-like' nerve pinch in that area---- I thought it was pretty cool indeed......

Note--- if you're actually going to CARRY a cat in this manner (grabbing by the scruff of the neck) you should support the underside of the cat with your other hand....

Good luck and let us know how this works out!

She is what we call a lurker on this forum. She reads it all time but has never signed up. I don't think Lamont could handle two of our kind on this forum anyways. He might end up shutting the site down.

Sorry I must disagree! Thats a Vulcan mind meld which is completely different front the nerve pinch. "The Vulcan mind meld was a telepathic link between two individuals, allowing for the exchange of thoughts, thus in essence allowing the participants to become one mind."
    It's NOT an alternate.

    I'm backing away now.

Try grabbing her by the nape of her neck and be prepared to hang on for dear life!
If she gets ahold of you; I bet it won't be by the neck and I'll bet that it'll get your undivided attention!
We' expect a full report when you're released from the hospital!

If I tried that on my 15 lb. Persian, he would turn the bulldog clip on me and I would be the one who couldn't move.
