Logo?
Was thinking about a logo for our group. I haven't any great skills with graphic design, but thought I might prime the pump with this effort: Thoughts?

I've been working on a logo for a long time. I was saving this for Cowtown to surprise everyone but Verb kinda forced my hand on this one (ha ha). I didn't want to put a Spyder on the logo because we have no idea what they will look like in the future. I wanted something that said Ohio Spyder and also be simple and 3 colors. So here it is.

Remember trademarks owned by BRP when making a logo.

Eric,
Certainly not my intention, sorry about that! I like your concept, but don't know how to go about getting corporate blessing for (non-commercial) use of their logo. I've seen it done in a lot of other brands' enthusiast sites, so it may be as simple as contacting the folks who interviewed you and getting some guidance. It'd be cool to have the BRP spyder on the logo, and I would hope they'd encourage the enthusiasts where possible.
While I agree that BRP may change the looks of the Spyder in the future, having what may be 'classic' Spyders on the logo might tend to show we were there from the beginning, sort of like the Wright Flyer on our license plates. Just a thought, and absent any other logo, I'll certainly have a flag patch or something to show my Buckeye pride. While I'm not a native, I got here as soon as I could...

I know when I was running the Valkyrie club we had a meeting with Honda and they basically told us they owned everything related to the Valkyrie including the font that was used. At that time they had just shut down the Honda Shadow Riders club for using the wrong font.

I did get an email from the P.R. Staff on face book they like the logo and said they will send it to someone that can give me a YES or NOOOOOooo. Its not a big problem I just like the BRP on the Spider.

Curious
These are older posts and I'm wondering if patches ever got made or if the idea was dropped. I like them both and there is a local shop in the Dayton area that can do one off embroidery. Not sure what she charges etc but I'd sure like to have a nice size patch for the back of my jacket and/or vest.

I'm not from Ohio, but both logos are excellent. I agree, though, that the red Y Factor could be lost. Initially, the red didn't hit me as a Y.

If you ever finalize the design I know someone who can make them into decals for you.
