Default RT windshield support - change color??

Has anyone tried (or done it) to change the color of the windshield support piece. Even on the 2013 RT-S with all the aluminum colored pieces blacked out, that piece is still aluminum color. Would like to make it black to blend in with the top of the dash - so is it powder coated or painted? Thanks.

I had mine powder coated. In fact, I powder coated all the silver pieces on the bike black.

I keep looking at the chrome support bracket in the accessories catalog...
But I surely can't sneak THAT past the Missus!

I just used krylon satin black, sand well, use primer, the stock finish has to be prepared well for paint or it will chip.

Thumbs up You have many options, painting works & is cheap, but can chip or PowderCoat

We couldn't afford to powder-coat, but like you, couldn't stand the gray cast aluminum, as it just makes an awesome machine look cheap (In Teddy's Opinion) so Teddy had me order a couple of cans of the OEM Viper Red from Touch-Up Direct and we painted the Windshield support bracket and all 4 speaker grills Viper Red to match his sled

Then we took a couple of cans of the BedLiner Spray to the foot-casting supports and blacked them out. Good thing about the Bed-Liner is that its made to stand up to the abuse and if you were to get a chip or scratch, no big deal, just a quick burst and when its dry, you can't tell there was ever an issue, unlike trying to match up paint
