    Default Okay; how does THIS piece come off?

    Through some very good fortune; I've come to be in possession of a chrome exhause end cap and heat shield for my RT.
    The end cap was a real easy swap after I fgured out and found the right-sized allen keys.
    The heat shield seems to be a real puzzler...
    I seems that BRP had one of the attaching screws up where you can just get a piece of a finger on it, and that's it!
    If the entire right side Tupperware comes off ; does that finally allow access to it?

    Ooh! Can I do that without raising the bike up into the air?
    That tactic might have some potential; THANX!

    If I do take this route; is there a chance that I'll be messing up gaskets or other parts that'll require the Missus to skin me alive?

    It appeared there was some locktite (or similar) on the bolt that gave me MAJOR fits.
    I wrestled with it for a while before I stripped the hex head of the bolt out.... then out came the sawzall.
    Anyway.. maybe I was unlucky or just to dumb.

    I think that I may put a little heat on them first to see if it makes them want to co-operate a bit more...

    Got it off, and I've got the sparkly pieces on the pipe!
    Now I've just got to take a break to calm my sorry- down before crawling up under the bike again!
    2-15mm... (one; a half-inch drive socket, other other an open end combo
    a 13mm 3/8 drive
    Some sort of allen wrench that doesn't have a aize on it...
    This is turning into a pretty decent rainy day after all!

    Just got done putting away all of the tools that I kicked through to find the right ones...
    No exhausts leaks; and it's SHINY!

    I'm just so proud of myself being able to get something mechanical accomplished on a rainy day, that I might even have to clean the bike up and post some more pictures of it!

    She actually caught these before they got to the door...
    So in my usual, disarmingly-charming way; I wrote some "Revisionist History" about their origins...

    I used a stubby bit and little crescent wrench and a lot of time to get mine off and back on.
