Default Wide Tires - Front Fenders

For those of you who have installed wider front tires - 185/60/14 - How did you deal with the reduced clearance to the fender? I would like to move my fender out about 1/4" and I have my ideas but thought I'd see what others have done first.

I've done a search on the forum but did not find what I was looking for.

Grind the holes in the medal bracket a little the fenders aren't centered anyway then add about 1/4 in spacers and longer mounting bolts I used hard plastic I had for spacers the tire change you will love big improvement

Eagerly awaiting reply from "rnet". I'd like to do this same modification.

Exclamation Teddy has a little helpful reminder for ya's

Don't forget to check the clearance of your brake line thats running along the fender support. When we changed out our OEMs for Auto tires, Coz noticed before I ever took my first test ryde that the brake line would have rubbed on the rubber of the tire. Just had to slide the support holder to the back of the support and all is good. Just thought I'd mention this to those of you that are wanting to go bigger. If this wasn't noticed prior, it could have ended badly Just thought we'd share

Thanks Dave! Soon; I'm going to be reaching a point where I'll need to "re-shoe" the front of the bike, and this information is being gratefully stored and absorbed!

I'm in progress. Might even take some pictures. Looks to be pretty straight forward. If I'd have taking things apart first I would have figured it out myself. But looks like there are others interested in this project anyway.

Thanks for putting me on the right track!

    Ron,
I added 1/2" spacers between fenders and support and used longer bolts. Tires go on and off easy. It will work without spacers, but the tires are a pain to get off.

I have some 185/60/14 KUHMO Estcta Platinums on order- yet I thought that they were very simlar to the current size tire. Is the issue centering in the fender or that the tire rubs the top of the fender?
