    Bob.

very important to keep the Mrs happy but you got to keep her cool in the summer, warm in the winter, dry in the rain. I will more then likely see them when our dealer gets the new accessory stocks

To me The wind deflectors are "ON" in the winter and "OFF" come the warmer weather when covering that air vent is detrimental to engine cooling? If their OFF you will get plenty of air flow without paying $$$ to do so- Thats just me?

Bob just tell the Missus these are special Chrome adjustable ones designed by BRP to double up as adjustable mirrors

I used the new wings today and they worked great. When I started the ride it was 60 degrees and at the end it was 82 degrees so I opened up the wings. It really directed the wind where I needed it.

Has it made any difference to the running temp dependant on the angle you set on the new wings

They may have to just make an "inadvertent appearance" on the bike while it's in Missouri...

I installed a clear set on my Spyder yesterday. It couldn't have been much easier and a ride in Southern Maryland-70 degree air in late January proved that they worked just fine. I picked mine up at my local dealer.

    Question

In the last picture you posted of the adjustable wings, does that position allow air to actually flow into that top vent

    Dave,
If I'm following you... I think that it's mounted behind the intakes for that vent...

Default Installed and tested on Florida trip...

I picked up a set of these from my dealer, Extreme Propulsion in Cartersville, on the way to Florida recently. During some of our many tours up and down the Keys in very warm weather I played with the settings some to adjust the air flow. They were easily adjusted on the go while riding. I found the mid- setting seemed to pull more heat up out of the RT side grates which should help with the RT airbox replaced with the Kewl filter kit.
Overall this is a very nice product that gives the rider some much needed flexability in adjusting the airflow and can help the passenger comfort as well.

If I have that right, that's interesting.
    Thanks!
That is the feel I got from placing my bare hand w/o glove right behind the vent in each of the 3 postions, going about 55mph in 75 degree temp.

Sarge, you may be right. I put a set on the other day and in a brief ride in 60F I couldn't feel a lot of difference in air flow on my legs/upper body whether the deflectors were half open or full open. It almost felt that half open provided more air. However, it was a very brief test and I'm hoping the $$$ spent will pay off. Like you, I used to take em off in summer and that seemed to work fine. I never saw any change in water temp, one way or the other.

I'd still like to have a switch to be able to manually control the radiator fan. I know its not supposed to matter if the temp goes up and down, but darn it, if the temp stays way down until you stop for a light, I'd like to be able to switch the fan on at that point. I'm just not smart enuf to wire one in myself and too tight to pay a mechanic to do it! Prob should have used the $$$ spent for the deflector.

The adjustable deflectors don't block any more air flow to the legs that the original ones, so the Baker air wings are better for that, especially since I ride in cold weather. Haven't had a chance to use the new deflectors on a hot day yet.
