Default The low down on replacing relay #2

Ok.. Mine is starting to act up. Found Napa part # MPE AR172SB. I see google hits all over the place...

    However....

    This is a 14V 20 Amp
    OEM is. 12V 30 Amp

    ????????????

I am reading of 1000's of miles on these.. But the extra amps must be there for a reason.

    What gives?

Never go to a lower amperage rating.

I know relay 2 acting up because when I start it, it will click and appear almost like a low amperage start. When it clicks the display resets. I try it again and it starts perfectly. It's random/Intermittent behavior had me considering ground faults but I checked everything. No error codes and BUDS has nothing on file. Searched this site and google and had multiple hits, all citing premature failure of #2 relay. Owner would "swap" relays on side of road and discover problem was gone. These owners then bought relay at Napa, Autozone, and website for a reduced cost

Ok. Autozone has them under part number #19271. Shows as a power window relay. I found a few more entries I must have overlooked from our "super senior members" who bought a few extras in 2008. Price is 13.99

I did thanks.... So far I have started it about ten times (purposely throughout day). No hiccups. I think researching this site paid off... It was annoying
