Zurich Warranty ?????

I called Central Vermont Motorcycles in Rutland, VT this afternoon, I spoke to their warranty person, I have a 2014RTS-SE6 can-am spyder, and my B.E.S.T warranty expires in Aug. 5, 2019 and I am looking for warranty coverage after that.

The person said " Where did you buy your spyder, I told them where I bought it (bought it @ Walt's Sales & Service, Derby, Vt) they said" they can not sell me the Zurich warranty because I did not buy my spyder there" that is the agreement between Central Vermont Motorcycles in Rutland, VT & Zurich. Also I asked them "do I have to go out of state to find a dealership that sells the Zurich Warranty".

The other 2 dealerships in Vermont don't sell the Zurich warranty. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Next week I'll call Zurich and let them know what "Center Vermont motorcycles in Rutland, VT Powersports said. Also, I'll keep everyone posted!

How many years is your Zurich warranty?

My search for "What Comes After My BEST Warranty" has been very discouraging. With respect to Zurich, I was told by the "customer service" rep @the listed 888# that they only cover bikes/trikes at the time of purchase(new). No "used" coverage, even though the Spyder is still under warranty. This is the same story @McGraw(Western).
There is no direct phone # for Riders Advantage. I've filled out their online information request form X2; but have not gotten any reply.
The person I bought my BEST Extended Warranty from @BERT'S is no longer there. The person I was referred to told me I could extend my BEST coverage for 2 more years for $1400.00:yikes::yikes::yikes:. Don't know if that information is accurate, let alone correct.UPDATE from the correct person @ BERT'S. As I suspected, my original contact person had his head up his a$$. There is a 5 year total limit on Factory + BEST period. NO EXTENSION of the BEST extended warranty possible. As has already been discovered:
1. some 3rd party warranties are tied to the Spyder selling dealer, and
2. regardless of company ESCs after 5 years are very expensive. The figures I was quoted are close to $700.00/year for what amounted to a 2 year extension .
Never thought this search would be so difficult. Hoping someone here can crack this nut; because I'm not inclined to buy a new Spyder in 2 years.

Deanna, any update on this? Thanks.

I think we are all talking about extending the warranty beyond 5 years?

UtahPete, No update yet, life has gotten in the way!

Yes, I am looking for an other warranty beyond the 5 years, I had ask someone on this site( at a meet/greet in Bennington, VT in April or May), he said" endurance Insurance.

Question: Have you or any other spyder owners heard of/or dealt with Endurance Insurance?

If you/or any other spyder owners has dealt with Endurance Insurance What is the cost? and for how long( years etc.)?

Is there a Phone # for the Endurance Insurance?

Would any Can-Am dealership accept the Endurance Insurance?

If any one knows the answers to the above questions that would be a big help!

They would just write them a check if all repairs were approved I would guess.?

I did a "Google Search Endurance Insurance " and I they don't list the Can-Am brand, they list Car brands.

Like I stated I was guessing that is what Zurich would do or similar for a claim..Its funny as I just got Zurich on my new truck. I normally do not go third party for warranty. See what happens when I do need to use it.

What years of warranty are you referring to? Are you looking to add warranty after a full five years of BRP factory warranty and BEST, or did you buy one year of BEST after factory ran out and now want to extend it to the full five years? If that's the case then $1400 is highway robbery.

If you're looking to add warranty after all five years of BRP and BEST, then BEST is not available. Maybe nobody will sell a warranty for a Spyder after it's five years old.

I get the feeling that there are many "members" , especially with 2014s, that are interested in this topic. Sorry you've "got nothing but **** for" your efforts to help. From what I've discovered, it looks like my options are:
1. see if my servicing dealer has anything to offer, since they know my Spyder, or
2. start an Emergency Repair Fund to cover any issues that may/will show up as my Spyder gets older.

Zurich Warranty

I bought my warranty from Reno in KC back in June of 2013 for a 2011 Spyder RT. They were great to work with. I got a really good deal for 5 yrs extended warranty back then. (less then $800) The way I understood it back then was that if you purchased the warranty from Zurich before your REGULAR factory warranty expired there was $0 deductible. If you purchase after your warranty expired you had a $50 deductible. I never made a claim but I felt better having it. Hope that helps. I would call Reno and ask. The guy I worked with was Craig Dahmer. He's probably not there anymore but you never know.

Looking As Well

I'm looking for coverage as well. I looked at my BEST card in January and read it incorrectly. The date on the card was 08/05/2018...what I didn't notice was that 08 was the day and 05 was the month. :opps::lecturef_smilie: If I had noticed that...I could have purchased one more year on my BEST warranty; now I have to find something else for my 2015 F3S. Following this post closely. ;)

I wont be getting the Zurich Warranty for the spyder for a while due to losing my current job( I started a thread Titled "No new farkles for a while").

Will keep everyone posted when I do get the Zurich Warranty.

Deanna

Good you are doing your homework

Deanna, it's good you are doing your homework on Zurich. I've never had them so I can't say anything personally. I will say that my auto dealer offers Zurich and others, and has told me they have the most customer service complaints with Zurich. And as someone else said, you don't have anything done until they approve first. Good luck.

Rob,

I have other priorities to take care of first, the Zurich Warranty is the last on my list.
