• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Zumo XT2 paired to headset by Bluetooth - anyone else got clicking in the headset?

I recently purchased and installed the Garmin Zumo XT2.
We have Cardo Freecom 4X headsets and Galaxy Note10+ phones.

The phones and Cardo units are up to date with the latest operating software. The Zumo updated on start-up.

The Cardo units were paired to each other, and then paired to the Zumo. They are not paired to the phones.
The phones are paired to the Zumo.

When navigating with no Bluetooth music playing, the voice commands from Zumo are clear and smooth through the Cardo units.

When I start Pandora from my phone, the music and the voice commands are interrupted persistently by a clicking sound. The click is faster when travelling at slower speeds (20-35 mph) and much less at 55+ mph. It does not correlate with RPM whatsoever. Any audio being played in the headset stops & starts at each click. This makes hearing the voice guidance difficult and listening to music just downright frustrating. Back when we had land lines for our home phones, you could hear a click when a second phone in the house either picked up or hung up. This click is very much the same as that.

FWIW, I play Pandora from my phone at home a lot and I've never heard this clicking there.

Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon? If so, did you find a fix?

Have you tried un-pairing the Zumo from the headsets; pairing the phone to at least one of the headsets; and then seeing if you still get the clicking in the headset when you start Pandora/playing music?? :dontknow:

Since you play Pandora (on your phones??) at home a lot (I hafta assume without the headsets connected?! ;) ) and it works fine; and the Bluetooth connection & guidance commands between the Zumo & headsets work fine WITHOUT Pandora operating; but then the clicking starts up when you start Pandora, it sounds a little more likely that it's a Pandora/headset based problem or a Pandora/Zumo based problem than it is a Zumo/headset based problem, with Pandora being the common causative link - at least, it sounds like that to me, anyway??

But testing the Pandora/headset link will at least allow you to localise where the causative problem is most likely occurring, potentially stopping you from chasing entirely the wrong connection down a dead-end rabbit hole.

Hey Peter, thanks for the help.
As I was writing the description of the problem, I tried to cover all of the connection scenarios but failed to mention that we have had successful Pandora music play from the phones directly to the Cardo units. Prior to installing the Zumo I was using the phone for GPS and music and never had the click interruptions.

We've recently found that the crackling is only present while in intercom mode. This indicates that the problem is with the Cardo units, not the Zumo.
