• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is the garmin zumo 665 a direct replacement for the zumo 660 installed on the 2014 RTL? I am looking to add the SirusXm capability to my Spyder.

See my previous posts on this. The outer part of the cradle needs to be changed to a 665 cradle face. Very easy. Two small boards and the mini screws on the back of the cradle.

Plug and play the 665 will not work for XM, WX etc. with the 660 cradle face. (period) You will need the XM 40 antennae plugged into the harness.

So simply replace the cradle with the one for the 665 and install the GXM 40 antenna? Really? Which I'd known, I swapped out the entire cradle and wire harness then plugged in the puck.

My 665 plugged right into the 660 cradle..It seems it will not work with the XM feature tho..

Yup snaps right in but will not play XM even after you plug in the puck, needs a complete cradle change to a 665 harness assembly and the puck or apparently just the electrical interface in the cradle and the puck. The puck is actually the radio.

I should have replaced the harness when I had the bike all torn down over the winter..Oh well maybe next winter the harness will get replaced..

Just a thought. I have the same problem. You stated change the outer part of the cradle to a 665 cradle mount face. Does the 665 have to be a brp part? Can it be one purchased off Amazon. Thank you for your info. Bob

Just some FYI .. This thread is from over (9) years ago...

I know this is old, but I'll still respond.......I still own a 665 with an active lifetime XM subscription. It's the last GPS Garmin made that will do Sat radio. I use it along with my XT if I'm doing a remote ride. Mexico, or Alaska. I still have a BMW GS along with my RTL. Anymore though, by having the subscription, that allows you to use their App. So I play XM from my phone via bluetooth to my Spyder. I really only like the weather features on the 665 and XM. It's not as bright and user friendly as the XT. Also no longer supported for lifetime maps and service from Garmin.
