• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. ZUMO 660 Mounting Bracket / Spring Servicing

Hello from Columbus, OH. I bought a 2013 RT Ltd last Fall. The mount for the Zumo 660 is there, but the GPS itself is gone. I really don't need a GPS, but I'd like to use the space for a phone mount, maybe a RAM. Does anyone know of an adaptor that will allow me to use the existing mount and wiring, or am I better off just removing everything and starting scratch?

On an unrelated note, I'm getting ready for the riding season (if it ever gets here) and would like to change the oil, filter, etc. I'm used to doing my own work, but I'm wondering if for this first time I should bring it to the dealer to have them give it a once over. If I end up bringing it to the dealer, what should I expect them to do aside from changing the oil and filter? Any ideas on what I should expect to pay?

Thanks in advance for any ideas you might have!

Step 1: Purchase the service manual

After reading it, contact BajaRon for oil change kit and any special tools.

I would remove the mount carefully and sell that to help pay for whatever you plan on putting in its place.

Or locate a 660 or 665 garmin and you now have GPS.

If the 660 mount is in fact a RAM mount you can remove the four small screws holding the mount onto the RAM plate. You can then by an adapter to fit whatever you want to the RAM mount. RAM mount will be similar to this:

Your Garmin 660 mount is proprietary to Garmin. If you don't want to replace the GPS then I would remove it and it's associated wires and sell the whole unit. There are people looking for that. There is a Ram mount that mounts thru one of the screws. As I remember it comes with a longer screw. That will give you the ball the get the arm and head that you like and off you go. I didn't like the X mount the arms were always where the side buttons were. so I got a Plate mount that has a spring loaded bottom and fingers in the side.

Thanks. Now to get it out in one piece!

Otherwise, there are these 2 links, I have them and mounted them on the support of my Zumo 660, it works well and it allows me to use my Zumo or my smartphone, as desired.
But the construction seems a little "light"
PS: sorry for my English!

This looks like it'll do the trick. Coming from China, did you have any problems with the shipping?

I have ordered several items from Aliexpress, never a problem.
On the other hand, it takes 3 weeks to 1 month for delivery.
But I'm in France, for the US, I don't know.

Does the item from Aliexpress require any extra wiring, and does it offer wireless charging of the phone? The ad is a little confusing to me.

Take a good look, on the 2 links there is 1 device that incorporates a wireless charger as well as 2 USB sockets to charge other devices by cable,
and another that only has cable charging by plugging into one of the 2 USB sockets on the side
To order, the various options are chosen in the small squares next to the main photo

Thanks, which size do I need for 2012 RT with factory navigation? I was using my cell phone and got confused.

Does that diameter even apply to me?

Hello ,
it depends on the original support, yours must be fairly flat, if so, you would need the one that is thicker at the back to clear the entire V of the handlebars, otherwise the one that is thinner goes very well, it's the one I have on my RT 2016, but I have the Garmin support mounted on a Ram-Mount ball, so it already releases the V
I hope I explain myself well, my English is not good.
