• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

ZUMO 590 - no music

That's the rub. Right now with the headset on and radio speakers playing, including GPS overspeaking turn by turn directions, I hear nothing through the headset except the turn by turn directions. If I turn off the radio speakers I hear the turn by turn directions and nothing else. The radio speakers had low volume when I turned them off but they were not muted. Perhaps I should just retry pairing the SM10.

Your headset is paired to the GPS and not the SM10. Clear all the pairings, on all your devices and start over. Then pair your headset to the SM10 only and test it to see if it works.

Your SMH10 has only one slot for a A2DP device and your SM10 must have it to work.

Just a wild guess here, and maybe too obvious, but do you need to go to the Spyder Mode and switch to Aux?

I get Sadie telling me where to go. I've got media available, I can see the song displayed and the timer running. I just get no music thru the sena headset, only directions.
And guess what, it's Saturday. Garmin ain't open. Oh, and I just downloaded a software update (it didn't help).
Anybody gots any ideas.??

No Media Sound - Garmin 590

I don't know if some one else solved this...

Here are the steps that worked for me (it was done on a Nexus6p)

Must have some kind of speakers for garmin590 to play to,
in this case it was a simple bluetooth head set

I was trying to get a book on tape to play on phone thru garmin 590 to bluetooth headset

Option 1
a) on the Garmin--> in settings-->bluetooth-->Phone (Nexus6p) turn off the 'phone' icon leaving just the media active
(3 options phone,smartlink,media)
b) make sure (still on bluetooth settings screen) that the headset , 'headset' (little icon) and 'media' options active and connected

I can now hear the book on tape playing on phone and start and stop it using garmin 590 media player

Option 2
a) install Garmin SmartLink on the phone (make sure it's turned running , on the phone) - it's a free app on google play store
b) on the Garmin-->in Settings-->bluetooth--phone settings, turn on phone, smartlink and media (all 3 active)
b) make sure (still on bluetooth settings screen) that the headset , 'headset' (little icon) and 'media' options active and connected

I can now hear the book on tape playing on phone and start and stop it using garmin 590 media player

Unless the 590 is different, audio output of your Garmin Playlist is NOT sent out via bluetooth it is an audio output.
Their is a phone jack on the Garmin.
This "jack" was located under a rubber insert on the side of the Garmin held in place by a small screw.
The audio is meant to either be connected via a male to male cable to an input jack (aux jack) of a radio or to plugin a set of "earphones/buds."
Those using Harleys would run a cable from that jack to the Aux input of their radios.

So how come when my 590 was new I could put mp3's on it and play them via the Spyders speakers? After all, the 590 cradle has the connections for it. NOW, however, I can't get it to play.

That sounds similar to a problem I had on my RT. It wouldn't send anything through the speakers when I first bought it. Salesman told me that it was designed to only play through a BT set-up. Got info from BRP and found that they hadn't plugged the audio cable into the wiring harness. Once that was corrected it was fine until after a service. I went in and plugged it in more securely and used zip ties to make sure it would vibrate out.

Please be more specific with your set-up.
Are you connecting your Garmin through the bike audio to the BRP (SENA) Bluetooth dongle to your headset ?
Do you have your Garmin Bluetooth directly to your headset ?
If you have the former, maybe the bike audio is set to mute ? The Garmin will override the audio mute.
I just got a 590 myself. I'm not used to all the settings yet.
