...Welcome to the Month of October 2023. We have put Nine into the 'history books'. So let's jump on this site and give it some thought and let the good thoughts flow. As always be 'family friendly' and enjoy what is happening with your local area weather news.

I am 'Little Blue' on this Forum and have always enjoyed learning more about the changes. Going back to my junior high days, when I thought about being a meteorite scientist.
Oh well, just a reminiscence of my younger days. I guess we all have different possibilities while we grow up and join the 'real world'.

Stay in Game and play fair. ....

Sunday 10/01/2023

:coffee:....Hello and Welcome to the month of October. Currently we have clear skies and 56°F in this area of the World. The Indiana Farmers are doing well with their Harvest. The talks are saying that we have a good yield. That makes everyone happy.

I am very excited about the way my tomatoes turned out. I was able to enjoy my first time with 'organic gardening'. It was just a wee bit different from just growing tomatoes. I think that next year I will be doing the same thing.
The flavor is much better than I thought.
A lot Healthier too. Give it some thought and maybe next year.

Today high of 84°F with lots of sunshine.
Low of 55°F.

Stay Healthy and be Safe. ....

Fall in Utah is a Magical time of year. The temp is just right, mid 50s in the early mornings getting up the 80s by afternoons. The mountains have put on their beautiful fall coats of red and yellow, orange and gold and still some green mixed in. Cynthia is bringing in fresh Tomatoes peppers and of course squash. The beans are done, but the onions and carrots are ready to come out of the ground. She is a farm girl and although the days of her fathers dairy farm are gone she still has her garden. The real farmers are getting in the last hay cuttings, Peaches, Pears , and Apples are really coming on and the cattle and Sheep ranchers are getting ready to bring their animals down out of the mountain pastures for their trip to the West Desert.Crystal blue skies are gone this weekend as a storm is moving in. I hope it's gone soon so I can finish my belt instalation. I hope to take some friends thru the mountains later this week before the leaves are gone.

Currently 81 degrees here in the desert. We're headed to a high of 88. There is a slight breeze and a few white puffy clouds. Kinda looks like the opening of The Simpsons. I've been working on detailing the paint on my little Mustang convertible. It was in need of polishing, buffing and waxing. All this needs to be done when the car surface is cool. The last few mornings I could only work for about an hour between sun-up and when it got too warm. But today it was cool enough to work all the way until noon. Looks like tomorrow will give me enough of a cool window to finish the job. Then it'll be time to switch over to do the trike. That'll go quickly as it doesn't need too much attention. I do enjoy vehicle detailing. It's good mental and physical therapy. Stay safe and Happy October everyone..... Jim

:coffee:....Welcome back from the weekend, currently we have a clear sky and 58°F. Yesterday was a beautiful dry day with lots of sunshine. It was like a summer day at 86°F. Lots of people were out there with the family. Some were walking the dog and pushing the baby.
This week is supposed to be an 80°F plus for us.

Today's numbers are good....85°F and 56°F. And lots of sunshine. No rain in the forecast for today.

Stay in the Game. ....

Heading to Maggie Valley for the spyder rally on Wednesday (10/4). Temps should be perfect. Mid to low 70's for the afternoons, and mid to upper 40's in the mornings. Suposed to drop to upper 50's for hights in the afternoon and mid 30's in the mornings for the weekend. But with dressing in layers, it still should make for some great riding with friends. I am really looking forward to this. Unfortunately 2 of the people that i am used to meeting there each year have passed on. But the good times and rides will always be in my memories. And isn't that what part of life should be about? Enjoying yourself and making memories.

:chat:....Well yesterday was another great day for me. Currently clear sky and 59°F. The yard has dried and the leaves are falling. Getting more brown than the yellow so far. My tomato plants are looking sad as well. I am still amazed that I had so many. They must have been late bloomers.

Today it's going to be sunny here, high of 86°F.
Still no rain for me.
Low at 61°F.

Same game different day. ....

Wednesday 10/04/23

...Welcome to Wednesday, currently overcast skies and 60°F. Today is going to be a repeat of yesterday, but just a few clouds mixed. Going to enjoy the morning here on the Spyder. The Indiana Farmers are making fast with the harvest. Everything is coming together and they are saying it was a good yield.

Today's high 85°F with some clouds. No rain here.
Low of 59°F.

Game on let's Ryde. ....

The cool-down has started. High 60's today. Currently it is raining on and off. Coming off of 80's, it feels very cool.

The current temp here in Vermont is 82 degrees and sunny, clear skies. This warmth we are having now, will break more records. Clear and mild conditions stick around tonight as over night lows will be in the 50's and 60's.

Today is the peak of the heat. We will gradually lose some ground as we head through the rest of the week. Thursday will feature more sunshine, and temps are slightly cooler in the upper 70's and lower 80's. Friday, more clouds begin to fill with daytime highs only in the upper 60s' and lower 70's.

Big changes arrive this weekend. Saturday seems to be wet, and some places picking up 1'- 2' inches of rain and high temps only in the 60's. Sunday and the start of next week look drier, but there will be some on-off showers. Daytime highs are stuck in the 50's through the beginning of next week. With cold air moving into the higher elevations late Monday into Tuesday, there could be some snow showers :gaah: on some of the mountain summits.

( I am taking advantage of the nice weather) Everyone stay healthy & Safe!

.....Well, I can hardly wait to see some rain showers today. That's what my local area weather news people are saying. Off and on all day rain here in Indiana, some areas could get 1" to 2". Currently overcast skies and 66°F.
I cut the grass yesterday hoping for today's rain.
I still have large cracks in the yard.

High today of 70°F with some rain.
Low at 52°F and some rain showers.
The leaves are falling and still more green than brown.
This rain could make a lot more leaves fall.

Game is still on for the time. ....

Currently it's 91 here in the desert. Headed for a high close to 100 today and through the weekend. Humidity is at 10% and the winds are calm. There are no clouds. The overnight lows are in the high 60s. This weather feels very comfortable for those of us living year-round in the desert. Snowbirds are starting to trickle back here from up north. They're easy to spot. Most look like they've just come out in the sun for the first time in many months. Some will look like lobsters after a few days in the desert. Seems to be an annual tradition. Stay safe..... Jim

Friday 10/06/23

Well yesterday was a very rainy day. We received over an inch of rain at the house. I hope this will not set the Indiana Farmers back to much.
Some still have a large amount of harvest to go.
Currently clear sky and 59°F.

Today is the start of a cooler trend for a week.
High today of 67°F with some sunshine.
Low at 41°F. No rain today.

Stay in the game. ....

101 for a high today in the desert. Humidity is at 12% and there is a slight breeze. No clouds in sight. This looks to be the last triple digit day in the forecast. Even though the thermometer shows it's warm, it really doesn't feel that hot. Probably because the sun is lower in the sky and not beating directly down on us. Stay safe..... Jim

Here in the Carson Valley of NV we've gone from cool and rainy (with hail in nearby Dayton, NV!) early in the week to more seasonal today at high 70's. Tomorrow, however, it's back to summer with an estimated high of 95 degrees! Forecast for Columbus Day is back to cool (estimated high of 71) with a chance of rain.

There's a reason why we Nevadans often say, "Welcome to Nevada. Don't like the weather? Just wait a minute...". :D

Weekend Weather 10/07 - 10/08/23

Well, the weekend is finally here. Just going to be a lot cooler than last weekend. Currently 44°F and cloudy sky. Man, that sounds bad. The wife said maybe the 'white stuff' could be early this season.

Today's numbers are 58°F for the high.
Low of 38°F. No rain here.

Sunday is about the same.
High of 58°F with sunshine.
Low at 37°F.

Enjoy your Weekend and Stay Safe. ....

Last week here in Vermont, Summer made a comeback. Last week temps were in the 80's, and sunny, dry.

But now we have wet and much cooler weather on the way. A slow moving cold front will be partially interact with the remnants of Phillipe, which is currently in the Atlantic. The result will be rain, which will be heavy at times, especially in the Champlain Valley and the Adirondacks of New York. The rain wont be quite as heavy in The Eastern Vermont and especially New Hampshire. By evening, there may be 2 to 4 inches of rain where the heaviest rain is expected to fall, and less elsewhere. Thank fully, the recent dry spell will prevent widespread flooding, though isolated flooding is still possible. It will be a lot cooler with highs in the 60's.

Sunday will be quieter day, though scattered showers will continue. It will be cooler yet, with only in the mid 50s's and a reminder that it is fall. Sunday night, a few snow flurries are likely at the mountain summits, though no accumulation is expected.

The upcoming week will be certainly be more fall-like and unfortunately, unsettled. There is a slight chance for on-& off showers through Thursday, with a better chance on Friday. High temps will gradually be in the upper 50's to low 60's, with lows lows in the 40's.

Tuesday 10/10/23

Today's high will be only 62°F with mostly sunny.
Low at 36°F. No rain today.
