Oh, go ahead and make us cry.
Now with the internet and media I have enjoyed weather news from all around the World.
That is why I wanted to do this Weather News.

A big Thanks for all of your posts. (y)

I'm with you 100%. I do enjoy reading about the weather and activities people do seasonally from all over. Causes me to reevaluate where I choose to live and visit during my retirement. Right now, it's 65 degrees, sunny, 5 MPH breeze, and no clouds in sight. Most of the year I'm very happy living in the desert. But come summer I question my choice just about every year. I do get away on a road trip each year for usually about a month. This year I'm very strongly considering becoming a Snowbird again and finding a place up north for two or three months. But for right now, I'm pretty happy waking up to bright sunrises every morning. The whining (from me) won't start until June! Stay safe..... Jim

Partly sunny this morning here in the desert. Breezy with winds at 11 MPH and gusts up to 20. Currently 64 degrees and headed for a high of 69. The clouds will increase later this afternoon. We actually have a slight chance of picking up a little rain over night. That would be nice. Thinking about y'all that are experiencing winter storms..... Keep the home fires burning! Stay safe..... Jim

Good Morning to you and Welcome back to Tuesday news. Currently we have overcast sky at 24°F. Oh, yes we have 10 inches of snow on the ground. Finally got the driveway cleaned of the snow ❄️.

High today of only 26°F.
Low at 12°F.

Enjoy the Snow and stay Healthy.
Till next Time. (y)

Well, here in Vermont we have been stuck in a weather pattern that has been bringing us the persistent snow showers and blustery conditions. It will be going nowhere for the next few days. That means more of the same - snow showers, especially in the Northern mountains, and the blustery NW winds which, when combined with lower than average temps, will bring the wind-chill down into the single digits and teens below zero, especially during the early morning hours.

We will finally get a break on Friday as this system slowly moves off to the East.

Then another system which they are tracking mainly to the Southern part of Vermont on Saturday will mostly likely kick up a bit more snow. Not sure how much snow we will get out of that system. Some of the snowmobile trails are still closed due to lack of snow, Go Figure, also my sled is getting restless!

The current temp is 15 degrees and still snowing.

First off, I hope you Sled People are getting all the Snow you need. Our 11" of Snow is here to stay. Temperatures are staying below 32°F all week. The school kids finally went back yesterday. Seems like they were off forever. What a change since I went to school.

Currently cloudy sky and 16°F. Wind chill feel is 9°F.
Very thankful for a warm home.
Be Prepared and Ready.

Today's high at 23°F, a little sunshine.
Low of 7°F.
The wife's car has been starting every day.

Stay Healthy my friend. (y)

Well here in Vermont, we have been stuck in the same weather pattern that has been keeping those persistent snow showers coming down, along with those cold blustery winds.

Some spots in the higher elevations have already a picked up over a foot of powdery snow, and there will be several more inches of the snow piling up through Thursday, especially in the higher elevations, even the valleys will be getting a dusting to a couple of additional inches of snow accumulation.

Finally, the storm system will drift away on Friday and we'll get a bit of sunshine back, especially in the Southern part of Vermont. It will be just a bit warmer and the winds won't be as strong as they have been.

Another storm system that they have been watching for the start of the weekend now looks like it will be staying in the Southern part of Vermont. But it will kick a few snow showers in this direction on Saturday, but the snow won't amount to much.

Sunday will be quiet to round out the weekend. Then, as we get into next week, we will be back in an unsettled weather pattern... No Major storms, but enough to bring a few more snow showers, mainly in the mountains.

The current temp is 8 degrees.

In my area they have issued a Winter Weather Advisory which expires on 1/9/2025 @ 7:00 PM.

Yes, us sled people have been getting some of the snow that we need, but here in Vermont, some of the snowmobile trails are still closed due to a lack of snow, not enough to cover the fields, etc. We need a good dumping of snow for the all of the snowmobile trails to be opened.
Stay safe & healthy everyone!

It's late evening and I usually don't post this late but tonight is an exception. We have been having breezy conditions here in the desert caused by the same weather pattern that's fanning the California fires. Our winds in the valley have been up to 40 MPH according to the TV weather gurus. Here in the east valley gusts haven't been any where that high. We've seen maybe 20 MPH. But it's cold (for us). Currently it's 50 degrees and the overnight low will be a very chilly 37!

I want to be clear that my post yesterday about keeping the home fires burning was only my wishes to those in winter cold to keep warm. No way was I even thinking about those in California experiencing the devastation they are encountering. I do hope my California friends will excuse my poor choice of words..... Y'all stay safe..... Jim

All is forgiven on the 'Fire' typo.
So we will just send 🙏 prayers to those people in danger.

This morning I am up and feel cold. Checked the weather and it is 7°F outside. Ole man winter is here in Indiana.

High today of 23°F with mostly cloudy sky. Low at 7°F.
This is what we call 'Bone Chill' weather.
We still have a lot of snow on the ground.

Remember to check on your neighbors and family. Please stay Healthy and enjoy the season.

Till Next Time. (y)

Still waiting for some snow showers this morning. They have us under a weather advisory. Maybe receive 1-4 inches of snow today.
Currently cloudy sky at 19°F.

High today of 26°F with some snow.
Low at 21°F.
Still sending Prayers to CA.
I have a friend in the danger zone.

Stay Healthy.
Till Next Time. (y)

Currently sunny (over us) and 49f. Olympic Peninsula, WA.
Better than at home in Powell, WY. where it is sunny and 24f. That’s cold!
I’m confident we will be moving here permanently.
The local riders say they ride all year round, with many ignoring the rain and ride anyways.
Aerostitch one piece suits are popular

First off, just a little heads-up about the CA fires.
The news people said that so far 10 people have died.
Over 1000 homes and buildings have been destroyed by the fires.
Please keep the people that are in the fire zones in your Prayers.
Sending Prayers for everyone.

Low at 23°F and cloudy.

Sunday's high at 34°F with clouds.
Low of 19°F.

Remember to check on your family and friends.
Have yourself a Blessed Day

It's a cool winter day here in the desert. Currently 58 degrees. The high will only get to 60. The sky is pretty blue with no clouds at all. Breeze is very light at about 3 MPH. The overnight low will be in the high 30s. There are some places in the valley that could actually see temperatures at or near freezing. For us desert dwellers, this does feel like a cold day. Even so, I still refuse to wear long pants. :) The atmosphere in my little house is very welcoming today. I'm using my gas oven to add a little extra heat and some wonderful smells. Have some seasoned ribs tightly wrapped in foil on a slow cook for a few hours. When they're ready. I'll finish them off with sauce and a quick high-heat sear on the grill. Meanwhile, I'm REALLY enjoying the warm inviting aroma. :p Stay safe..... Jim

We had a 'Heat Wave' yesterday. The temperature was 36°F. So some of the snow started to finally melt a little. My driveway is free of snow. Makes going to church and the store a lot easier.

Currently clear sky and the full moon is shining. The temperature is 19°F.

Today's high at 23°F with some sunshine.
Low of 11°F.

Stay Warm and enjoy your time.
Till Next Time. (y)

Today, we had I think it was day 5 of a heat wave here too - highs of 36-38°C again, with overnight lows in the high 20's, and it's looking like at least a couple more days of that before we get maybe 2 days of mid to high 20's °C, then head straight back into the high 30's for the weekend & on into mid next week. :cautious:

I don't really mind the heat per se, altho it does make middle of the day Spyder ryding a little iffy, but this year, instead of the humidity being no higher than the low teens in % like it usually is here in the Hills, it's been up in the high 80's, and that's just rude!! It's almost tropical weather, not the low humidity levels that we usually get in South Oz, the driest State of the driest Continent (besides the Antarctic!) Not Happy, Jan!

Well this morning is a bit cold at 7°F. The wind chill is only -8°F by the way.
Maybe we'll get some snow showers later this morning.

High today of only 21°F and cloudy.
Low at -1°F.

I will say please Pray for those in harms way in CA. News is not very encouraging and now 25 people have died.

Be prepared for anything and you will be able to enjoy Life. Have a Blessed Day My Friend. (y)

Here in Vermont, it has been Cloudy all day. The snow showers were confined to the higher elevations, but will mix down into the valleys from to time. Daytime highs were in the 20's. Mountain snow showers will also continue into Wednesday, before wrapping up Wednesday evening and night. All said and done, for most of us it'll be a Trace-3". However, the higher elevations of both the Adirondacks and the Green Mountains may run to 4"-8" in the same time frame, with a few locally higher amounts possible, especially in the higher terrain of Northern Vermont.

After Thursday or Friday, another frontal system will be coming through to start the weekend. It will be mild enough at the start to begin as rain for many of us on Saturday afternoon. By Saturday night into early Sunday, it will transition to all snow. They will be watching this, as well as the potential for more snow on Monday and on through the upcoming week.

The current temp is 19 degrees.

We have a Winter Weather Advisory issued in my area, from Jan. 14th @ 4:00 PM EST to Jan. 15th 4:00PM EST
What: snow expected from 3" to 7' inches with localized higher amounts possible, Wind gusting as high as 30 MPH.
Where: Portions of Northern New York and parts of Northern and Central Vermont.
When: Until 4PM EST Wednesday.

Deanna

We got about six inches of snow. Temps today in the high 40's. it feels like 20 though. The snow has melted off of most of the pavement. We are headed for 25's by the weekend.

Yesterday's little bit of sunshine melted a small amount of our snow. We now have about 7" of snow on the ground. You know what they say 'every day is a new one'. Currently partly cloudy sky at 1°F. The moon is brightly shining this morning.

High of 18°F with mostly sunny.
Low at 12°F maybe get some snow showers tonight.

Stay Healthy and Warm.
Till Next Time. (y)

The current temp here in Vermont is 15 degrees and cloudy. We got additional snow accumulation from just a trace to another inch, but the mountains could possibly run an additional 1-2" of snow. Air temps for today are chilly, generally stuck in the teens and lower 20's for most. A bit of breeze out of the Northwest will mean wind chill values in the single digits and lower teens through the day. Tonight, lows will be in the single digits on either side of that zero-degree #.

Thursday and Friday are looking pretty quiet at this point, with mainly cloudy skies overhead, and temps gradually warming up through the 20's and back into the 30's.

Then on Saturday, which will be the warmest of the several, the high temps will be in the mid-to upper 30's. Then another system makes it's arrival Saturday afternoon into Sunday; it could start out with a bit of rain-snow mix, before ending as a bit of plain old snow early Sunday. At this point, the system looks like it's only going to bring a bit of minor snow accumulation, but they are keeping an eye on that.

Then next week, it's looking to be chilly! Air temps look to be stuck in the single digits and lower teens, with low temps below the zero degree mark. Waking up on Tuesday morning here in Vermont, we could see wind chills in the teens and even 20's below zero! (I am ready for spring!)

Everyone stay safe and healthy! Also, for those who can ride their Spyder's all year round, keep the rubber side down. And for those who are in the colder areas, ride your snowmobiles when you can, if you can/have one.

Deanna
