Your Weather News @ January 2026 Edition

Wow! Sounds like everyone is getting this big snow storm here in USA. I know that my local weather news area is scheduled for 8" to 12". Basically about 5" today and then tomorrow 7" more. So by Sunday night we will have about 12" of Snow to enjoy.

Currently cloudy sky at 2°F. Wind chill makes it feel like -8°F. My furnace is working well for now. That's a good thing for sure. I put in my snow removal request at 8am this morning. Hopefully I will be plowed by Monday morning. I am on the long list.

So Welcome aboard and let's try to get thorough this weekend. Indiana should miss the freezing rain and Ice problems. I sure hope so 🙏

Today's high will be 12°F with afternoon snow ❄️ Showers.
Low at 8°F. More snow than I need 😫
I am going to be positive about this
Weather for now. I really can't change it.

Be Warm and Dry. Stay Healthy till Spring break. Be sure to check on friends and family.

Sunday's high is 13°F with some snow.
Low of- 5°F. Bone cold 🥶.

Yes, we will get thorough this.

More of the same for us here in frozen Northern Illinois. Minus 13°F with the wind chill making it feel like minus 25°F.

Not fit for man nor beast! No snow though and still no chance to try out my new snowblower. I can wait.

Currently 21° F and snowing lightly at Noon on Saturday here in Middle Tennessee, although not a lot of accumulation.
Supposed to switch to rain Tomorrow, and get to upper 30s °F by Tuesday of next week, and into the 40s °F the following week.

Yesterday's forecast for rain, then no rain, then rain, turned out to be no rain... at least at my house. Parts of the valley did see some very scattered light showers. The rain previously forecast for today is now off the table. It's mostly sunny with some scattered clouds, 64 degrees, and headed for a high of 67°. Overnight low will be 44°F. The humidity is 58% and there is a 2 MPH breeze. Got a text message from a Canadian Snowbird friend wanting to know why I haven't been at the pool lately. I guess this weather seems like swimming pool weather to Snowbirds. For us locals, it's crock pot, hot chocolate, and cozy fireplace weather. :giggle: Wishing warmth and safety for all those experiencing the winter storm. Stay safe..... Jim

66 degrees and partly cloudy right now. Florida has decided not to participate in the nationwide blizzard. Been working on fences all day. Nice and cool and if I stay busy it is not too cold. Working in a t-shirt and an old flannel shirt with the sleeves cut off. I am wearing pants and one boot too. The wind has shifted from coming out of the SW most of the day to coming out of due N right now. Weather Monkeys say it will be low 50s tonight. Gonna put a load of clothes in the washing machine, and then try to get one more gate put up before I have to stop for the day. When the sun goes down the temperature is gonna drop and that North Wind will make it seem colder. Not a problem, got plenty firewood and plenty LP gas.

Here in Vermont, currently we are expecting bitterly cold temps and a lot of wind chill here. Though the entire weekend will be really cold, the worst of the wind chill was this morning. Temps are starting off in the single digits and teens below zero. The wind will be North West 5 to 10 MPH, which will create a wind chill temp of 25 to 40 below zero. Wind chill that low can result in frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes, so they have issued a First Weather Alert day in effect for today and Sunday

Daytime highs on Saturday will only be a few degrees above zero and below zero despite partly sunny skies. The wind, however, will diminish during the day. The wind will be light Saturday night, but the temps will once again plummet into the single digits to mid 20's below zero, with the coldest readings in spots like Saranac Lake, New York. Sunday will be a touch warmer but still frigid with highs in the single digits to low teens above zero.

The next BIG weather story will be a big snowstorm which will impact the area. Clouds will increase Sunday morning, then snow will begin to arrive in the Southern sections of Vermont around midday, spreading Northward during the afternoon. The snow will be heaviest Sunday morning, into early Monday morning, resulting in a hazardous Monday morning commute. For Monday itself, the snow will persist, but be lighter. This will continue to bring slippery travel into the evening. The snow will move out around midnight Monday night.

They are still forecasting 6-12 inches of snow accumulation in the Northern part of Vermont, and 12 -18 inches of accumulation in the Central and Southern parts of Vermont.

The rest of week will be relatively quiet, except for a chance of snow flurries Wednesday and again on Friday. Temps will remain very cold, through not as severe as this weekend. Highs will be mainly in the teens, and lows will be a few degrees above and below zero.

Then next weekend, they are forecasting another snowstorm.

As of now, it is currently clear, frigid, and not snowing yet!

Everyone stay safe!

(No snowmobiling for me this weekend!)

Welcome to Monday morning weather news from Indiana. Officially we received about 12" of Snow over the weekend. I measured the snow on my driveway at 11". Thankfully I was on the list for snow removal. The crew was here earlier this morning. Definitely happy about the job.

Currently cloudy sky at 1°F and feels like -12°F. The city is telling us to stay put and let the snow removal crews do their job. But I know some people want to go out and see. Hopefully most everyone will just stay home.

Today's high will be only 5°F.
Low at -1°F and blowing snow.
Going to be another great 'John Wayne' movie day.

Stay Warm and Be Healthy.
Remember to check on friends and family. Have a Blessed Day.
Till Next Time. (y)

Snow and lots of ice here.
They have plowed and salted the roads, so I assumed that I could make it through with my Honda Ridgeline truck, which has "all wheel drive".
The official name of this feature is Honda's VTM-4 (Variable Torque Management 4-Wheel Drive).
What I learned last night, while the wheels were slipping while trying to get back up my ice covered driveway, is that there is a "snow" setting that basically locks it into 4 wheel drive. After doing that, I was able to get my Ridgeline up the driveway and into my garage for the night.

High temperatures here are forecast to be around freezing for the next couple of days, with a possibility of 40 °F (4 °C) on Thursday.

Currently in the desert: 64 degrees, sunny, wind at 10 MPH, and humidity is 15%. High today will be 68° and the overnight low will be 45°. There will be a little warming trend this week and we should be back to mid 70's by Friday. Last evening I wore my Seahawk jersey and flew the Seahawk flag in front of the house. That worked out real well. Weather generally moves from West to East, so... As we warm up this week, I'll do my best to send warmer weather along to y'all. Stay safe..... Jim

For once the cold temps worked in our favor.
Due to the cold temps the snow flakes were the small dry compact ones.
We got about 15cm (6") with lots of drifting due to the high winds.
Went out three times yesterday to clear it. Pain to shovel because it won't pack.:(
Still, we are better off than a lot of people who lost power.
Damn, the plows just came by! Here I go again.
Stay safe.

While you lot are battling the cold & white stuff on the ground, here in Oz, we've got fires, floods, and bloody high temperatures!!

I pretty much cancelled doing anything here yesterday, the high 40's in °C is just too hot to do too much, and we've had a string of hot days pushing 50°C with more to come!! The overnight low temps have been staying pretty high too, last night got no lower than about 32°C, and the humidity stayed up there as well, so if you don't have A/c of some sort, things can be a tad warm, sticky, and basically miserably HOT! 😒

We are staying warm and dry. I cleaned the snow off the truck. There was 10" of Snow all over my truck. Backed it down to driveway enough to clean off the snow on my driveway. Our snow was the lite fluffy stuff. Then I enjoyed a drive to the local gas station.

Currently cloudy sky at 10°F with wind chill of -12°F. No new snow here. Just
Artic temperatures for the week. Nothing higher than 18°F for like 10 days. Hopefully you are doing well and no Health problems.

Today's high is 17°F with some clouds.
Low at -7°F
The days are getting longer by a minute or two. A little over 6 weeks
till good ole Spring. Come on Spring!!!

Everything looks good here.
Have a great day today 😊

Come on Spring !!!
The only problem for me is that I don't think the snow pile in front of the bike shed is not going to melt until August.:(

Heading for a high of 72 today here in the desert. 2 MPH breeze, no clouds, humidity at 14%. It now looks like we'll be at or near 80 by this weekend. I'm pushing the warmth on east as hard as I can. Stay safe..... Jim
