It has cooled down from the record high temperatures we had here in the desert S.W. Currently it is 66 degrees and heading for a high of 76 today. The overnight low will be 56. There is an 8 MPH breeze. We have beautiful blue skies. It's an "open window and screen door" kinda day. Perfect. Stay safe..... Jim

We have had a couple bluebird days in the high 70's/low 80's. Very nice for porch sitting. :bowdown:

A weather alert day coming for tomorrow from 5:00 PM on. Time will tell.

Weekend Weather News

opcorn:...Today is the Last of the 80°F for a handful of days. Currently we have 75°F with sunshine and some clouds. You need to enjoy your Day off. I am retired and sitting outside is the real deal. So hopefully you can find some time to Ryde. I know that I'm going to have some 'wind therapy'.

Today numbers are 79°F and 58°F.

Monday 4/17/23

..Well folks this morning it was cold and windy. Now we have some snow showers and currently have 36°F. Going to be a cold wave in Indiana till Wednesday.

Today's high will be 45°F with clouds.
Low at 33°F and cloudy.

No clouds today here in the desert S.W. The high will be 89 with an overnight low of 64. Very slight breeze of just a few MPH. Yesterday was a mirror image of our temperatures for today so I'm trying an experiment. Afterall, I have entirely way too much time to dream stuff up. The utility company I have has a web site where I get my power usage every day broken down hour by hour so I can track usage easily. I know it costs me 4 cents per hour for what I call static use. That is, refrigerator and things like TVs that always consume some power when not in use.

So, here's my experiment;

Yesterday I left the air conditioner off all day until 2 hours before going to bed. Then I turned it on to cool the house to 71 degrees. Turned the air off and went to bed. The house stayed at 71 degrees all night. I know exactly what it cost me to cool the house before going to bed.

Today I set the air to come on at 78 degrees. The air won't come on until later this afternoon because it's still at just 74 in the house. Tonight I will repeat the 71 degree setting at the same time I did last night. Tomorrow I will be able to compare costs of the two methods for getting the temperature down to 71 at bed time.

Just another crazy thing to do to keep me from becoming a normal person. Stay safe..... Jim

Tuesday 4/18/23

...Well yesterday was a wee bit cold for me, currently 33°F with some clouds. Going to warm up a little today, so that is a plus. We had some snow showers yesterday morning but nothing stuck on the ground.
There was off and on rain showers here in Indiana.

No rain in the forecast for today. Hopefully I will be able to get out there and cut some grass if the yard isn't to wet. We had a windy day and lots of tree branches came down.

Today's numbers are 60°F and 33°F. Lots of Sunshine and Blue Sky Day.
Get out there and enjoy some Ryde Time.

My great experiment described in my previous post #45 was, well, like kissing my sister. Unexciting! Temperatures for the 2 day experiment were 91/60 & 91/62. The power usage TIMES were a little different but at the end of the day, usage was EXACTLY the same for both days...... right down to the penny. On to the next wild hair-brained adventure! Experiments are Fun

Hey Jim, I enjoyed the challenge of the electric company's service. We had a similar experience with our local electric company. It was very informative and helpful. That's all I will say.

Wednesday 4/19/23

....Well yesterday's weather was awesome. Currently we have cloudy skies and 50°F. I was able to get some of my grass cut. Hopefully today I will finish with the grass.

The weather people are saying maybe some rain showers tonight or tomorrow. If I get my car washed I know it will rain. So I will wait on the car wash. ....:gaah:

Today's high 79°F with some sunshine and clouds. Low of 57°F with some sunshine and possibly some rain showers later on tonight.

80 yesterday and 75 today. Winds today are gusting in the 30's. No riding till I get a new battery from Lamonster Garage. I did not put chargers on this winter, and the battery on my 2019 crashed from lack of use. My bad. The good news...if someone buys the 2019 they get a brand new battery. :yes:

Thursday 4/20/23

...Well yesterday grass cut was a success. I got it all done and the mower is running great. So a little bit of Spyder Time. Now my wife is talking about painting the house. I thinking that I might hire the job out. Just a thought mine you. Currently clear sky and 63°F.

Indiana Farmers are getting ready to begin their planting season. I saw a handful of them working in the fields. If the rain holds off they might start planting this weekend. Time will tell on that project.

Today's numbers are nice 81°F with lots of sunshine.
Low of 48°F and no rain in the forecast for today.
Calling for rain on Friday. ....:banghead:

Friday 4/21/23

..Finally Friday and 57°F. Today's game is going to be off and on all day rain. The rains have been a Blessing for Indiana. I will enjoy this morning and pick up some mower parts.

Today's high only 59°F with some rain. Low of 41°F.

Another beautiful day here in the desert S.W. Sunny and 80 at noon and heading for a high of 87. The overnight low will be 60. Humidity is now at 5% and the breeze is 4 MPH. Trike is in the hospital getting new shoes and other service work done so I will have to be content with hanging around the pool today. Stay safe..... Jim

Weekend Weather 4/22 - 4/23/23

...Welcome to my local area weather news for Indiana, currently overcast skies at 49°F. These last few days have been okay. I just needed to wear a jacket for some comfort.

I have started planting some seeds for my
garden. Just going to relax and enjoy the Time.
I am planting the seeds inside for now. Just going to grow some tomatoes this year.

Today's high only 50°F with some clouds.
Sunday high at 50°F with some clouds.
Lows for each day 32°F, but I have seen worse.
Oh well that's the weather for you.

Monday 4/24/23

...Welcome back from the Weekend, currently 30°F.
The wife is waiting on warmer temperatures to start her planting season. She loves to get out there and enjoy some time in the dirt. I love the flowers too. This makes her happy so that a good thing.

Today's high will be only 53°F with some clouds.
Lows at 37°F. No rain in the forecast.

Here in Vt. it is currently raining( Which we need).

The current temp is 44 degrees and cloudy.

Scattered showers will pivot through the area over the coarse of the evening, with a lull expected during the overnight hours and into Tuesday morning. The same upper level low that caused Monday's showers will bring several more rounds of showers over the next few days.

After a relativity day start Tuesday with perhaps a few breaks of sun here and there, showers will begin to blossom again into the afternoon. They won't be constant and not everyone will see them, but they will be around. Like today, expect shower activity to wane in the evening and develop again during the daylight hours of Wednesday.

Shower chances linger into Thursday before that upper level low finally begins to shift late in the week. More widespread sunshine builds in by Friday, But chances for showers return by early next week.


Temps will remain a bit below normal for the next few days, but return to the 60's Friday and Saturday.

Tuesday 4/25/23

....Well folks the Indiana rains are making a big return this morning. Everything is looking good and very green. Currently we have 43°F and overcast sky. Just now we have some rain showers coming down.

Today it is going to be about 56°F for the high. Morning and afternoon rain showers. Low of 31°F with a frost warning tonight.

well all the snow is finally gone from the yard, and we were able to rake up all the leaves buried under last fall's snow. They are predicting temps in the 70's this weekend so maybe winter is going to let go of Utah for a while. Of course, I have seen snow on the 4th of July before :yikes::yikes:.

Wednesday 4/26/23

Yesterday's sunshine was nice to see but a little chilly while outside. Today's sunshine is going to be a little warmer. Currently 37°F with some clouds. No rain in the forecast this morning. My tomatoe seeds are popping up, so that's a good thing.

Going to have some low key family members tomatoe competition. Everyone will receive a tomatoe plant. Then we will see what happens next. Everyone will contribute a small fee for the plant. We are all on the honor system.

Now for Wednesday's local area weather.
Today we will have 59°F for the high, with some sunshine mixed in with clouds.
Low at 39°F.
